He strikes me as a guy that'd you'd love on your team but absolutely hate as an opponent. -
This doesn't bode well for if/when they don't finish in the bottom 5 of the league and don't have access to top picks.

Are you hostile in person? Is that you in the avatar meeting Chuck?

I am cognizant of it, but not much I can do. I pay attention to the recent mileage that I am getting. I've been up to 31.7 in the summer and now I'm down to 31.1. Every time it ticks one way or the other on the dashboard, it makes me happy/sad for a minute.

I watched several minutes of the 1st quarter in between basketball games. I've seen better tackling in spelling bees.
-
Is it manufactured outrage? I mean, look at the Stacey Abrams photo. Why was only one person maskless in the photo? I watched the Rams-49ers game, and it seemed like there were plenty of shots of luxury boxes with maskless people in them.
-
Yup, bad move. Heck, not just the masked kids, look at the masked adults in the background. Everybody in that picture but one person is masked.

Nope, can't. There's just so much with the idolization of him that I find simply incomprehensible.

LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?
casimir replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
During his debut call up, his offense was poor, but it was his awful defense that was eye opening and concerning. I don’t think his bat was ever considered to be his calling card, although he did have one pop in it. Long term, I’m still hoping that they have something with Dingler. If they can reasonably piece C together to bridge things until Dingler is ready, I’d be fine with that.- 1,851 replies

I don’t know. If it was needed that badly on all three fronts, it seems like a deal would have occurred before it played out in real life.- 1,851 replies

It’s crazy how different the perception of Rogers’ future is from last year at this time. Good for him for reclaiming that “prospect” status even if he’s a little old to be a prospect now.- 1,851 replies

LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?

Oh, it’s possible. The worst league record falls either 1st through 4th via lottery (percentage of permutations is 14% for 1st down to 12% for 4th). It’s a 47.9% chance that the worst team falls out of the lottery to 5th. Maybe there is something with the NBA draft that MLB could use, I don’t know. Roster building in basketball is just so different than baseball.- 1,851 replies

LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?

I think the Tigers' suckiness goes beyond Zimmermann. I think his situation and the contract being a strikeout was a contributing factor. I kind of wonder what the Tigers would have done had Verlander not been traded with 16 seconds left on the clock. If he had remained with the team for the rest of 2017, do the Tigers try to retool for a playoff run in 2018?- 1,851 replies

LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?
casimir replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
Not possible to occur the way the NBA lottery is set up, unless they happen to trade out of their lottery spot and into 14th. A few years ago, the NBA had concocted the idea of taking all current 30 teams and assigning draft spots based on a 30 year cycle. Every team would be assigned to every 1-30 slot. The Pistons could have 14 one season, 7 the next, 29, 16, 4, etc,... as an example, with no regards to the previous season's record.- 1,851 replies

Ah yes, the sport where one lottery can significantly change the fortunes of a franchise in very short order. By the way, the Pistons still stink.- 1,851 replies

Well, that’d be perfect for the sport that allows a DH in one league but not the other.- 1,851 replies
