  1. They could have dropped the caricature and kept the C. But then the new C leads to merch and revenue, so I get that keeping the old C wasn't likely to happen.
  2. By the same bbref similarity score method, Sosa's list is 9 HOFs and Sheffield.
  3. Just for grins, Sheffield's 10 similarity scores on bbref contains 8 hall of famers, Miguel Cabrera, and Fred McGriff. So that's basically 9 HOFs and a Tom Emansky video, which should also be enshrined.
  4. He also stole 234 bases. He was a very good power/speed threat.
  5. The C is tolerable, but again, it didn't need changed. The Gs with the wings and the baseball? Simply awful.
  6. Maybe too much emphasis is put on the hall of fame as far as career achievements go. Whitaker should be in there ahead of Morris, but that isn't how it turned out. I found the memorabilia in the building fascinating. I enjoyed the main drag with its different shops and restaurants and small town feel. The plaques didn't really hold as much interest too me as I thought they would.
  7. Cleveland should keep the previous block C rather than go with the rebranded C. Sometimes plain & simple works best.
  8. Denver Nuggets (24-21) vs Detroit Pistons (11-35)
  9. I don’t think that’s necessarily true. MLBPA dropped early FA proposal according to Passan. Maybe it re-emerges later on, negotiations can be fluid. But I’m not sure either side has the upper hand.
  10. I didn’t think much would get done early on anyway. Now that spring training is a month away, it’s time to chat things out. I highly doubt either side wants anything to do with a work stoppage, and I think that commonality will help drive them to a deal both can live with.
  11. Oh, he’s talented, no question. And you’re right, he could be a matchup nightmare for the opposition. But he can’t shoot. And I would say he’s probably a headcase. I think that’s a bad combination for a young team to acquire.
  12. They saw the discussion earlier today about possible schedule complications if they didn’t start the season on time and decided it was time to get BIZZY.
  13. Ugh..... I hear this word about a dozen times a day from my boss. Please. Stop.
  14. Agree, I think that's here to stay.
  15. I am intrigued to see how this robo ump stuff will work. It looks like they are still going with weeklong series, too. https://img.mlbstatic.com/milb-images/image/upload/milb/v5t8krfj3b3ji5fc44vy.pdf
  16. It would seem to me that just adding the beginning two weeks to the back end is the easiest way to do it. When you get into trying to condense two weeks into one or three into two.... I doubt its as easy as looking at the Tigers' schedule and assuming that, well, some doubleheaders here, and take way an off day there. But what about the Red Sox, Jerk Sox, Royals' schedules and their days off? Keep in mind, there is the rule of no more than 20 consecutive game days (or thereabouts) without an off day. Scheduling with a the current alignment has to be a nightmare. I agree with you that they wouldn't want to reduce to 154 if it isn't necessary, but this is MLB we're talking about. Sometimes logic (assuming we are using any to begin with) need not apply.
  17. He's a below average shooter outside of 3 feet.
  18. I hate snow.
  19. It'll be interesting to see what schedule alterations might be needed for Detroit, if it comes to that. They open in Seattle and Oakland, so, if they need to reschedule, that's going to be tough to accomplish if they start X weeks late and tack on less than X weeks on the end yet hope to maintain 162 games.
  20. Isn't someone going to tell Rogers to shut up and dribble?
  21. Excuse me, why do we want the Pistons to trade for a nonshot making diva that has sat out this season?
  22. A back to back with Denver. This concludes the trips to the west coast.
  23. Detroit Pistons (11-34) vs Denver Nuggets (23-21)
  24. I didn’t notice this during the game, but Utah made a dozen more free throws than Detroit attempted. Detroit never went to the line in the 4th, whereas Utah was 9 of 11. Now granted, some of those 11 were late and must foul situations. But 0 attempts in a quarter?
