Sure, Hinch might not want reunited with Correa. The feelings could be mutual. Ilitch/Avila might not want that that possibility of a distraction even if Correa/Hinch are kosher. Maybe they’re all good with it. Maybe the Tigers want to go with another SS for whatever reason.
And along those lines, the assumption of Verlander “coming home” might not work out as some folks have assumed.
That's where I am with Baez. I wouldn't consider a long term deal for him. But if the better SSs are off of the board and Baez would consider 4 years, it might be worthwhile.
Sure, but that was also just a small sample size. His Met numbers were absolutely impressive, but it seems doubtful that that kind of output can be expected of him for a season or several.
The NFL has to suspend Rodgers for openly flouting the rules, right? This gives the league a little more time to kick the Daniel Snyder can further down the road, too, right?
We’ve seen this a bit in the NBA with one & one contracts in recent years. Now, sure, the NBA and MLB are definitely different in terms of team structure as it relates to finances and construction, but the concept is out there in pro sports.
My wife’s god daughter is to be married in Greeneville, South Carolina during The Game. The iPad will be making its way into church. The parents of the bride are from Ohio. They should understand.
The most Michigan football fan thing ever is to criticize another team’s coach for being overrated. But I guess you’ve got to take your victory laps where you can, c’est la vie.
One would think.
But the contract length is interesting. Correa just turned 27. Can he get another high AAV contract in a few years? Can he get 4 years now plus 7 or 8 years then such that the combo is better than a 10-12 year deal now?
And maybe he can accomplish that by getting a long term deal with an early opt out in this off-season.
Bingo. The Tigers aren't buying Myers, they are buying San Diego's desire to move Myers. How much does San Diego want to move Myers?
Drew Pomeranz was also mentioned in that CBS article. What kind of prospect package does San Diego want to attach to Myers & Pomeranz? Can Pomeranz be productive out of the bullpen for two seasons? What would need to go the other way?
