  1. I‘ll second the motion.
  2. That was borderline painful to watch.
  3. I see you, Lee.
  4. Yellowhammer Estates.
  5. This seems reasonable. And the tweet may not capture the whole rehab arrangement. As far as having access to the facilities, it could simply be a standard protocol given the lengths of the rehab and the contract not lining up. In addition to that, there are the protocols of COVID (which, OK, Texas and all, but maybe MLB's protocols). And given Verlander's status, the Astros may have decided to keep their resource intact for their season and allowed Verlander to seek a rehab team that he was comfortable working with. The rehab folks can work back and forth with the Astros on different rehab programs & guidelines for pitchers while the rehab team does the day-to-day rehab work. Or maybe the Astros did kind of pull the rug on Verlander, but he's cool enough to realize that he's an older free agent coming off of TJ and getting into a public word battle doesn't make a whole lot of sense for him. Remember, he's preached from the pulpit before on domestic violence and cheating in baseball, but when those questions got turned around on him in regards to the Astros trading for Roberto Osuna and the whole sign stealing deal, he kind of turtled up a bit.
  6. Wow, that is interesting and seems like it is out of nowhere.
  7. https://www.motownforums.com/ Duh!
  8. Yes, I see it on Cots now. I was looking at bbref earlier and it doesn't have the 2022 standard extension & 2023 club option (no buyout) noted.
  9. Crud. I should have done it this way: Anyone interested in the Tigers acquiring this resume? There's been plenty of banter about Verlander being brought back and, to a much lesser degree, Scherzer. I don't recall anyone bringing up Morton, who might be a better fit since the price tag likely won't be as exorbitant and he could still fill a pretty significant hole for the Tigers.
  10. Charlie Morton is a free agent after this season. Just for whatever its worth.
  11. Yes, Detroit won the season series over Houston 5-2. It doesn't mean they were a better team this season. Atlanta won the playoff series over Los Angeles. It doesn't mean they were a better team this season.
  12. Detroit Pistons (0-3) vs Philadelphia 76ers (2-2)
  13. Its going to be tough replacing a salt of the earth kind of guy.
  14. Yes. How much of it is predetermined by the front office, how much of it is based on the what the manager & pitching coach want to do. Now, I know the field crew has an idea of what they want to do in certain situations before the game starts. But how is it orchestrated? Does the front office suggest/mandate going with an opener in the next game and suggest the follower and after that they trust Roberts to make in game decisions? I guess I just kind of wonder what all goes into the game prep and what the decision making process is like during the game.
  15. Uh oh. Charlie Morton might have just died.
  16. A happy buddha?
  17. Lions 0 for 2021.
  18. I'll start this thread as a general thread since I'm sure y'all don't want me in the UM game threads. Anywho, I had no idea what the current OT rule was and was completely befuddled when I saw the box score with "9 OT" and a slew of 2s in it. Anyone else see that scoring and wonder why a bunch of student-athletes started running the wrong way in OT?
  19. It'd be interesting to know how much of the pitching decision making is orchestrated by someone other than Roberts vs on field in real time. Weren't there questionable Dodger starting lineups in the World Series a couple of seasons ago?
  20. How refreshing.
  21. Might it be because the best lawyers realize that there isn't a lawsuit there?
  22. Detroit Pistons (0-2) vs Atlanta Hawks (1-1)
  23. Yes, the Tigers seem to have crossed into a new paradigm than the suck & rebuild years. The combination of hiring Hinch, the "success" of this past season, and the emergence of the higher echelon prospects have forced that upon the Tigers. Let's see how ownership and the front office treat this offseason. We can and have argued about how they get to this point, but now they are at this point. I think we can all agree that what has happened in the past, at least as far as how the major league roster is handled, ain't repeatable this offseason. I want to see how things are handled before burying them this offseason.
  24. The theories are far fetched, but that people believe in them is truth. Dealing with the people aspect of lottery scratch offs and daily drawings when I worked in a grocery store was awful.
