  1. Let me guess, you’re also a dollar short?
  2. One might say that was …. gritty.
  3. Sweeney busting his ass down the line, McKinstry and Ibanez fighting through long plate appearances. None of those hitters in the 9th tried to hit a walk off home run. Those were professional plate appearances realizing that the opposing pitchers were simply not up to snuff in that moment. They were smart, looking for the right pitches to swing at and laying off of stuff they couldn’t do much with.
  4. Nah…. casimir wants you to know that casimir was never worried about today’s game because casimir knew this one was in the bag. Enjoy that walk to Cleveland, Jerk Sox.
  5. This should come as no surprise. But, hey, I bet his golf courses have trees on them. We need lumber? Start there.
  6. Well, I guess the other thing with the “mental” side of it is, it might not be mental at all. Go back to the season finale vs Seattle and the differing opinions on Keith’s baserunning. I go back to what we saw on TV is probably different than what Keith sees on the field, what Cora sees on the field. It might not be as much mental inasmuch as it might be perception or approach. That might be parsing the term mental a bit much, I don’t know.
  7. Having Carpenter lower in the lineup vs a LHSP rather than higher in the lineup is simply to limit the possibility of a 3rd PA vs said LHSP. Perez probably isn’t any great concern at all anyway. But this also allows Ibanez to hit higher in the lineup and possibly have an extra PA vs a LHP.
  8. Its the Jerk Sox. They've already got a foot out the door anyway. Their next series is in Cleveland on Tuesday, but they have to walk because the school bus that they used to get to Detroit had to be returned. The south side schools had spring break last week, but they're back to school tomorrow. Ain't no way they could haul the Jerk Sox from Detroit to Cleveland, head back to Chicago, and then be disinfected, all in time to pick up the youngsters tomorrow morning.
  9. That's fair. Their 3pt shooting was awful, no question. I'm looking at the rebound discrepancy (60% to 40%), and if that's a bit more even, there's a few more runouts that they could have which, given the smaller lineups that the Pistons had during the majority of the game, should have lent itself to more more running opportunities. On the year the Pistons outrebound their opponent 45.1 to 42.5, this game included. I guess since the game came down to the end, if the rebound a bit better or shoot a bit better (or both), the outcome is likely towards Detroit's favor. Maybe front line minutes going to Reed rather than Duren and overall minutes going to Sasser rather than Harris explain last night's aberrations a bit.
  10. The exchange happened in the battery aisle?
  11. Probably just a planned off day. They need to manage to the season, and so a day off with the series in hand vs a LHP (which admittedly is only a minor concern here) in not so wonderful weather is fine. He's available if needed. If not, pick his spot to enter the game. Either way, there's a little mileage saved.
  12. Well I guess my coffee hasn't kicked in yet. Which, hey, speaking of tariffs, let's see how that manifests itself in higher costs for Starbucks consumers. Unless President Spray Tan has lined up coffee bean growing somewheres in the USA, that ought to get attention, right?
  13. Bane and being outrebounded (which limited their ability to run) kind of killed them, too. But, Cunningham was working through rust. He, Beasley, and Hardaway struggled with shooting. I'm going to need to start wearing a football helmet watching Reed play. The only 3 point shot he should attempt is at the end of the clock.
  14. It was probably just an attempt to buy any extra votes from anyone that earn tips and/or overtime, nothing more than that. Look, he also promised lower prices at the grocery store. Its not happened yet and its going to go in the opposite direction with these tariffs.
  15. They should take it out to their defensive position for the next half inning.
  16. The reasoning seems to imply errors are only granted for physical events rather than mental events.
  17. Just need a healthy Meadows. I'm a bit worried about that part.
  18. Come on, Lee, you gotta apostrophize that.
  19. I think spring training bought him some time in an otherwise likely dump him before 2025 season is over scenario. This outing where they had to burn Vest isn’t going to sit well. This outing against a hapless Chicago lineup isn’t going to sit well. I liked his acquisition, I thought it made sense. But he may be done as a major leaguer. I appreciate him changing his off-season regimen to account for his poor 2024. I was hopeful that would help him this season. And his spring seemed to encourage as well. Maybe it was one rough outing, but he’s at a point where he can’t have many of these.
