  1. Nah, I'm cool with the other outfielders for a handful of turf games. I don't want to say he's fragile. I would simply rather use those defensive outfield innings on grass.
  2. I bet he DHs again tonight. That's fine. Why take the chance of him in that OF?
  3. Yeah, this is it for me. Where do they go from this season? Who is going to get this team onto the right track going forward? Forget the playoffs next season. I would punt them for the next season also if it meant a better more sustainable ceiling. And that might mean Cunningham isn't a part of the next winner in Detroit. Heck, that might mean none of the current "core" are a part of the next playoff team.
  4. Probably good for Youppi. That game went 22 innings. A 1-zilch game that the Dodgers won on a Rick Dempsey home run.
  5. I really liked Ten, Vs, and Vitalogy. Yield is probably the only album I liked for a stretch after that. Lightening Bolt drew me back in. I really, really liked Gigaton. I like Dark Matter. So, I knew this album was to drop soon. But, with two teenaged daughters in the house, all I heard about was Taylor Swift's album coming out. And my eldest was just in her high school musical this weekend, Mama Mia. 4 shows of ABBA songs. Don't get me wrong, it was a good show, the students were good. But, 4 shows of ABBA songs. So, once I was reminded on Friday that Dark Matter was out, I've tried to scrub 4 shows of ABBA out of my head with Dark Matter. People,.... this ain't easy.
  6. Well, Drummond is still an active player, and I would guess that would exclude him from such a role.
  7. That was pretty bad. I can understand mistaking where the voice was coming from. I didn't realize Boone had gotten a warning prior to this. But, it isn't that difficult for the ump or MLB or whomever to simply say, hey, Wendlestedt simply thought the commentary came from the dugout, a warning had been issued, things played out live as they did, but upon review the ejection was a mistake. Ain't that hard. As an aside, hey, the fan paid the admission, so he can say whatever he wants to whomever he wants, right?
  8. I don't agree with the jail time theory. I think he's just arrogant enough to assume he will win by just being himself. Loud and obnoxious. I think he assumes he can shout down at anyone and the universe revolves around him.
  9. You were wither 5'2" then or the seats have shrunk over time?
  10. I think part of the playing time issue for Paredes was that he was stuck behind Candelario.
  11. If only they could find a leadoff hitter...
  12. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.4413892,-79.9529278,3a,15y,81.94h,95.08t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sVzJIFILwm8XDOu0GVEytIw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205409&entry=ttu
  13. While we were there, players had been arriving to the park. Nothing was going on out on the field besides grounds keeping. But when we left, we walked along the street that is used for player/coach parking, and there were some wheels out there. Two fun facts I got from there. (1) Was the tornado that demolished part of the OF stands way back when, maybe over 100 years ago. (2) Was the impressive fruit & vegetable garden that they have on property outside of the upper deck along the 3B line.
  14. You were too engrossed in the Tigers - Braves game? 🤣
  15. I liked Pittsburgh. We walked across the Clemente Bridge. Sat in the RF bleachers. Walked around the stadium and took in the game at different spots for a short time during the game. The spiral walkway in the LF corner is a good SRO type of view of the city and the field. The lower deck seats in LF were pretty neat, too; you never see a lower deck section quite that small, so that unique aspect was interesting.
  16. We did a tour of Fenway right before we left Boston last year. It was fine to walk around and check stuff out, but I can't imagine sitting anywhere in there except for maybe on the Monster for 9 innings. The seats are just so cramped together.
  17. He was also standing in front of the Kane's Furniture advertising when he made that comment so I wonder if he was being extremely sarcastic with his commentary.
  18. Maeda's career splits. It doesn't guarantee anything going forward, but if history can be a guide, he's about to become a much better pitcher.
  19. Fun game. I really like the pitching & defense of this team and the baserunning when they can take advantage of situations. Baez creating havoc, probably his best all around game this season. But even Rogers following Baez' around the pillows and sneaking into 3B when the Rays were throwing the baseball all over the place? Come on, that was beautiful.
  20. Its an app on your phone. Did you know there's also a phone app on your phone?
  21. The full years before and after his seasons affected by the military service, Greenberg had WARs around 6. His 162 game average WAR was higher than Gehringer. Or how about this wrinkle. Cabrera is actually below both in Tiger career WAR per baseball reference.
  22. I would say Lanier, Thomas, and Dumars.
  23. Not sure I’d want to get near any murky waters in that instance. I’d guess the appropriate medical assessment would be subject to both sides signing off and reviewed by MLB, but I would think Eppeler would have had those taken care of as well? Maybe he was too lax there and that opened up the door to investigate.
