  1. I'm not sure "dude has juice" is a wise phrase for hitting acumen, what with the sport's history of PEDs and all.
  2. I think that's too simplistic of an opinion. Harris sold last season. How did that work out?
  3. Avila seems to have done pretty well at drafting during pandemics and in rounds ending with the number 9.
  4. Thus began the downfall of Brandon Inge....
  5. There is not a universe with an optimistic buddha. None, zip, zero, zilch, not'ta.
  6. I think if Harris makes a move, its going to along the lines of "hidden" numerals as you allude to here. I think he's likely to acquire a non name that most folks are going to find underwhelming at first blush. But upon further inspection/explanation, some of those folks will say, oh, sure, I saw that coming.
  7. Gimme hitters that can field and fielders that can hit.
  8. Well, our conversation certainly jinxed them, eh? 🤐
  9. Yes, I'm a little concerned about Greene's game long term, too. The swing seems to generate a lot of torque on the back. The gait, as you mention. One of those two by itself is one thing. Both of those variables together is another. Let's also factor in that he is a weaker armed OF. It's tough to know exactly how this team will look 3 seasons from now, but will Greene be a DH sooner than we think he might? Ideally Clark would be up by then and if Meadows were still around, well, that's a pretty good 2/3 of OF defense right there. Just in the short term, or any term, does that kind of bat path lend itself more to boons and busts?
  10. He's an NBA player now. He probably needs a load management day off.
  11. Is the tarp off of the driveway yet?
  12. I guess I look at it differently. I think tiers of teams rather than an absolute order. Both the Tigers and Dodgers are top tier, and I’d probably add the Astros, Phillies, Cubs, Mets, and Blue Jays in some semblance, although I could see where maybe the Mets and Blue Jays fall into the next tier. The Brewers are around in there, too.
  13. The same Dodgers who swept the Tigers, 3 games to 0?
  14. Wow, 9 teams? I didn't think he was that much of a journeyman. That's an impressive cache of jerseys that he could have from his playing days.
  15. I remember being irrationally giddy about that draft. And I really don't follow the drafts much, so what would I have known? I'm sure the COVID driven lack of baseball had something to do with it. Any kind of baseball news was an oasis for me, I guess.
  16. Its going to be all about the QB depth chart.
  17. That was a cool shot, wasn't it? I assumed he was borrowing one. I'm sure he has a few gloves at his disposal and wondered if he might also have a 1Bdude's mitt just in case.
  18. My Cleveland sports fan father-in-law borrowed my hedge trimmer the other day. Should I text him to ask him if he needs to borrow a broom as well?
  19. I know what you mean, damn would I love him on the Tigers.
  20. Trust me, I can tell you from experience, its tough being awesome all of the time.
  21. Clayton Kershaw was added to the all star game under the commissioner's legend status rule. MLB should do the same with Zach McWinstry.
  22. Detroit Phillips was awesome. I agree with you n the versatility. I doubt it happens, but I'd love to see McKinstry make the all star team and to see both he and Baez play at multiple defensive positions.
  23. That legislature move is interesting. I was under the impression that there wasn't much local public interest in an MLB team there. They have not had minor baseball there since 2010 unless you count summer collegiate baseball. Maybe they need to bring back the Portland Mavericks for a popularity kick?
  24. There was one string of 10 games where the Tigers had a losiing record this season. That's it, that's the low point of the season. 4-6.
