  3. How did we know Mr Peanut was actually a man?
  4. Actually 1978, add one more thing. My side of the aisle had a big contingent of Steeler fans. We got ribbed a bit for scheduling the wedding in the middle of the playoff (Pitt vs Denver). They had timed the drive between the motel and the church. Left at the end of the third quarter. Barely beat my wife down the aisle.
  5. He was Methodist. We think secretly he wanted to be a preist
  6. We weren't too pleased either. It was her parents church so we didn't push too hard. The minister and I sorted of came to a truce and bonded a bit the afternoon of the wedding. It was the day after Woodie Hays slugged the Clemson player. It was also amusing watching him get high off rum ball cookies.
  7. I just need to spend more quality time on the piano. After all Williamsburg is the birthplace of Bruce Hornsby
  8. I've scraped a lot of wallpaper but have never attempted to hang any. Our biggest shared interest is music. She played violin thru high school and college, I was in high school band. About 15 years ago she picked it back up again and joined a community orchestra which led to the founding of another orchestra (the birth was on our deck). I picked up the saxophone and managed to play well enough to join a couple of community bands. The biggest disappointment of moving to Virginia has been the dearth of community music organizations like they are in Michigan
  9. Thanks for spoiling it for the rest of the class
  10. When we were planning to get married the minister almost refused to do the ceremony. We failed the "compatibility test" among other things (we were also cohabiting, out of convenience, and not telling her parents) Somehow we've managed 43 years together. I think it's because of our separate interests.
  11. The man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest...
  12. Biggest losers in a prolonged lockout besides the fans will be the restaurants, motels, etc that count on the baseball tourist business each Spring. It's a drop in the bucket, but still. Also aren't a lot of the concessions staffed by community groups who use the profits for their organizations. (It's been a while since I've done a ST trip. Not in the cards this year, hopefully a few minor league games.)
  13. Bringing back the oldies. Republicans never have new ideas What are they for anyway
  14. He was following Ginny's instructions like a good husband
  15. Are you sure its NPR, they have PBS skewing a bit farther left. Separate entities.
  16. I've reached my limit on searches without shelling out some bucks. There are about 10 or more listings for Fox. Local news stations, Fox News Channel, Fox News, etc. Fox News is actually fairly close to center if I remember correctly, at least on the radio side. I've had a couple Chicago radio friends work for them in the past and they are reporters I trust. Fox News Channel refers to cable. They are fairly low on the reporting section of the graph and farther to the right
  17. NPR skews slightly to the left and gets high marks for fact finding https://adfontesmedia.com/interactive-media-bias-chart/
  18. Read the thread....
  19. And in most of the places where the vote was contested the rules were proposed and put in place by the party who later changed the laws
