Per The Hockey Writers site, on Cleveland (6' 5" 210), not great on skates, not much O, a lot of stay-at-home Defense: "But if the Vegas Golden Knights’ Stanley Cup win taught us anything, it’s that there’s still a place for big, bruising defensemen who can wear down the opposition, and in the 2023 NHL Draft class, there isn’t a player that can do that better than Cleveland. Known for being a punishing hitter, he’s one of the toughest players at the United States Hockey League (USHL) level. This season, he led the NTDP with 106 penalty minutes, 30 of which came in a single game after he removed his helmet in a fight. He doesn’t do anything halfway, so when he commits to a hit or a fight, he gives it his all. But they are REALLY talking up Cleveland so maybe he's really good/ has a lot of upside...?

I'm not surprised at that as much as we haven't pivoted back to forwards versus still adding D after #42...

At 47 we picked another defenseman: Brady Cleveland.

I am perfectly fine with running a 3-line group of centers of Larkin-Kasper-Danielson... And Kasper and Danielson can flip a coin on who gets #2 versus #3. I think it sets us up to have 3 strong two-way lines...

They're trying... Ironically, the invasion is making it really easy for Zelensky to make all sorts of moves on eliminating old Soviet-style corruption (currently malign Russian oligarchic ownership of businesses in Ukraine that is now easy to... eliminate).

There's going to be major construction projects/ reconstruction in Ukraine for at least the 10-15 years after Russia is kicked out...

Actually, my preference would be to move up in the 2nd to snag Dragicevic. I think he is immediately comparable to Buium and a bit higher. Whether that involves moving a player and a 2nd or a 2nd & a 3rd I don't care... Do it Steve!

I think they may end up more well-rounded, and bigger & stronger obviously... But... ASP is not supposed to be a slouch on D, and... no one can match him for his explosiveness on O. I think that's what Stevie Y was looking at: a future PP QB, 1st team PP, fast getting pucks out of the D zone, and dangerous and explosive offense both scoring and passing and skating. Not someone who knocks guys off pucks, but is responsible enough on D. I would have considered him at 9 unless either Leonard or Danielson were there... Maybe an Erik Karlsson type but.. we'll see if he can reach that level... Just my 2 cents, and why I was very high on this guy...

Yeah I don't think I'm putting Mazur at #2 and Edvinsson at #3. But I hear you on Wallinder and how far Cossa has come along but still needs to go... I'd be fine with Cossa & Wallinder swapping spots on my list because in my mind it's a really tough call on production versus "future potential" between those two... but I prefer my list and rankings to yours otherwise... Also... At #8 I think Soderblom is in the argument, as well as Lombardi and maybe even Buium (even though he struggled a bit this year), and Buchelnikov as a high upside possibility...

Let me revise this because I think I'll go with Cossa at 5... At this point I'm ranking the Red Wings top 7 prospects as: 1. Edvinsson 2. Kasper 3. Danielson 4. Pellikka 5. Cossa 6. Wallinder 7. Mazur

Oh... of course... Yannick Perrault's son. Fell due to skating and defense they are saying...

PS: I would have been happy with any of Moore, Pellikka or Perrault...
