I think I don't want Grant because of the cost, the contract, he'll be on the wrong side of 30 starting the very first year of this contract, and his defense is getting worse by the minute and is weak enough to not call him a 3&D guy anymore but, more like a 3 & OK D guy... I'll state my preference for Jalen McDaniels right here and right now.

I also preferred Hendricks for the reasons Tater stated but can get on board with Thompson for the reasons Weaver/ Del elucidate right here...

I don't think Khris is interested in leaving Milwaukee. Opting out just gets him a long-term contract (with Milwaukee) while the gettin's good... After this draft, I'm still looking for that 3&D Forward that we need, whether at SF or PF... UFA? RFA? Trade? UFA Jerami Grant? Will hit 30 next season so I'd be leery of too long a term but 3-4 years would be OK, I think. Would he want to come back here to finish up a rebuild? He would help on the 3-side but does he have any D left in him? His D-rating is steadily getting worse the past 4 years so most likely not. UFA Dario Saric? Could be an interesting value (contract) idea... although he's not too much different as a player than Grant... Would he be interested in the Pistons? RFA Cam Johnson? He'd be the biggest steal... but impossible to get him with the RFA... Same with Grant Williams... Under-the-radar guy? UFA Jalen McDaniels. This is my choice based on cost, possibility of signing, age, etc... What about RFA PJ Washington? Not a great option but the best of the rest...? Or is that UFA Trey Lyles? Overall, not great options to fill a need...

They already did that awhile ago when Wagner was trying to retreat out of Bakhmut. But it was a small arms exchange on his retreating forces and basically it has already blew over. Not that Prigozhin was happy about it and he did express his... displeasure. Is this something new?

Garbage. Or at least I hope it's garbage. Because I think it's garbage to not put 3 & D over and above those 3 guys. And that means Miller-Hendricks-Whitmore, in any order you want them. It's just GOTTA be some heavy, heavy smokescreen. Please.

I'd rather just wait until the 2nd or 3rd round to start taking pitchers... just on principle. As many have mentioned... starters aren't really pitching 7+ anymore... it's more like 5-6 innings topping out at 7. The value is just not there. I'm taking position players only in the 1st round (if I were a GM that is...), and finding good pitchers after the 1st to fill out rotations and BP. It's not like I want to avoid drafting pitchers... but to me, the 1st round is the premium round so I want the premium "value" as much as I want the premium player and that's not pitching anymore. I hope Harris thinks the same way. And I haven't even gotten into the value of "position" players playing every day versus pitchers pitching only every 5th day... I don't really have to because "Starter" really only means "pitches half a game every 5 days", nowadays. For all the bashing of Avila, hasn't he found cheap trade guys (Wentz & Olson and others) and after-1st round pitching that Fetters has turned into gold dust (I won't say it's been Ft Knox gold... but at least some little bit of gold dust methinks...)? Our pitching has been kept afloat not by Mize & Manning, but Wentz's and Olson's and Brieske's and Foley's and Lange's and such. Hopefully Harris keeps that up. But as for 1st round value... if Crews and Langford are already gone, I'd rather go the Catcher or HS bat, and I don't care who Harris values at the #3 more and selects... so long as it's not a pitcher. Any pitcher.

Add in Doug Fister. And Anibel Sanchez. Also... does Harris even have those chops? DD certainly did...

Not "to win" this year, necessarily... But just to add a key element to the team, for future/ short-term use. It would be a Paredes for Austin Meadows trade only hopefully not for someone who falls apart at the seams... Sorry to Austin, it's, just, the truth.

It'd be nice to get some healthy starters for once in two years (or is it 3?). Both at Detroit but also at Toledo. Add Brieske to that group. Whoever loses out a spot in Detroit is now depth at Toledo... where they should be. Also... all the starters at full health means that we can finally kick one or two over to the BP. I would start with Faedo & Flores.
