  1. Yeah, that was the... Supervisor Stance... wasn't it?
  2. Shit!!! Stole TWO points instead of ONE!!!
  3. We were talking only about the secondary. Secondary coach (Pleasant) gets dumped and the aggressiveness gets ramped way up... Yeah, I think Campbell's/ DC's message and desire got through to them...
  4. A Tigers offer to Correa: 8 years and $280 Mill. Who says no? (Ilitch or Correa (or Boras?))
  5. And Husso looks like a real find... "Hoooooos!!!"
  6. I've got to admit it's getting better (better). A little better all the time (it can't get no worse). I've got to admit it's getting better (better). It's getting better since Stevie Y (took over).
  7. I would love to REALIZE the dream of a Wemba-Duren-pick-your-SF frontcourt...
  8. That looks about right.
  9. Also... it appears Husso is pushing for more than just the 1A starter job over Ned's 1B...
  10. Woo Hoo! Empty Net goal Larkin...!
  11. And then a PP for the Caps with 3 to go...
  12. 1st impression of D pairings/ signings this year, so far: Hagg is at the bottom, easily, and keeping Lindstrom there with him. I think Hronek, whatever warts he has... has benefited greatly from a pairing with Maata... I can't tell if Seider is in a bit of a sophomore slump, or if Chiarot is slowing him down a step/ or off his game a bit, or both (slump/ Chiarot has him off for whatever reason...).
  13. Republicans can go F themselves.
  14. DAMN... AGAIN!!! BEAUTIFUL!!! Particularly that bass solo...!
  15. A defensive PG is usually a 3rd PG... a specialist. A primary backup PG absolutely has to be able to run the offense, and that includes being enough of a threat himself in order not to be a zero or non-factor and cause dysfunctionality of the offense he's trying to run...
  16. That's exactly what I'm saying. And it changes from failure to not if the next playoff-level Tigers team is built primarily with Avila players. I'm still on board with dumping Avila for Harris. I'm not advocating for Avila... he just wasn't good enough in multiple areas. But the misrepresentations and personal fantasies and outright lies have me feeling I'm in the political forum instead of the Tigers forum...
  17. A-Hah! Now I get it... you're just lying... Let's see: Tarik Skubal - 9th round, 2018. Kerry Carpenter - 19th round, 2019. Beau Brieske - 27th round, 2019. Kyle Funkhauser - 4th round, 2016 There are lots of others, but, yeah... Avila paid "NO ATTENTION" to the lower rounds. Please stop lying. 2022: Javier Osorio, $2.2 million. Samuel Gil, $1.2 million, Josue Breceno $800K, Heison Sanchez $800K. 2021: Christian Santana, $2.95 million, Abel Bastidas, $1.175 million. 2020 (held off till 2021 due to pandemic) 2019: Roberto Campos, $2.85 million. 2018: Jose De La Cruz, $1.8 million, Adinso Reyes, $1.45 million. Represented, or underrepresented does NOT preclude them from signing international free agents. Whether you like that or not. Whether you like the signings or not. What? Avila traded Justin Wilson and Alex Avila for Jeimer Candelario (23 yo) and Isaac Paredes (18 yo). That was a trade for the future. Avila traded Michael Fulmer for Reese Olson (22 yo). That was a trade for the future. Avila traded Shane Greene for Joey Wentz (21 yo) and Travis Demeritte. That was a trade for the future. He had others too. Again... you're just lying. I see. No matter what Avila's players turn out to be, even if championship level... you're just going to call it luck in order to discredit Avila. Got it. That sounds like a political agenda/ political spin-doctoring. Not interested. This discussion is finished. Go ahead and call it whatever you want to. It was a rebuild. Like it, love it, or hate it, it was a rebuild.
  18. There was nothing nasty about that. It's called a barb. To look for a reaction. Yeah... thin-skinned. So I got yours now... any comment whatsoever and you melt down.
  19. I think we're getting into semantics here but... Just because a rebuild fails doesn't mean it should then be called a dismantling, IMO. Call it a failed rebuild (and that's not even yet to be determined), but it's not like they didn't try at all... This wasn't a Finley or Huizenga dump of any and all salaries come hell or high water... Miggy Cabrera, Zimmerman, Pelfrey (and others) PROVE that. And though all of those failed - spectacularly - the attempt to remain competitive and spend on salaries (badly) still disproves a "dismantling". And it's not as if we didn't hunt bargain FA's all along (we DID!!!) trying to find extra value or some form of competitiveness... it's just that most of Avila's signings did fail. Outside of Fiers, Grossman (for a year anyways), Schoop (same), Javier Baez, Eduardo Rodriguez... But failed signings is not a dismantling, it's a failed FA signing. I lived through, and watched, as Huizenga forced Dombrowski to trade off anyone, any veteran, and everyone, making decent money after the Marlins won their first World Series. A team that DD built from scratch. And then he traded and drafted their next World Series team. I know exactly what a dismantling looks like. And this was no dismantling. Not by a long-shot. A failed rebuild if anyone wants to call it that. But the funny thing is... If Manning/ Mize/ Skubal/ Dingler/ Tork/ Greene/ Carpenter/ Keith/ Wentz/ Turnbull/ Baez/ Rodriguez/ headline our next Playoff capable team... was this even a failed rebuild? Or was everyone just too impatient to ride this thing out?
  20. And no one expects an "average" payroll during a rebuild. So your last 7 years' complaints are moot point.
  21. Excuse me? Tone what down? Asking which planet you're from is so egregious that it needs to be "toned down"? Don't be so thin-skinned.
