  1. Kazakhstan is going to become an important player on the world stage... for different, or similar, reasons than Ukraine: https://www.yahoo.com/news/kazakhstan-defies-putin-234700423.html
  2. There was no doubt whatsoever we were never going to change that. Too much corruption. Too much Taliban. And too many poppy fields...
  3. Gas ranges from $3.56 to $4.09 in Tennessee. (there was one really cheap place just outside Sieverville/ Pigeon Forge... usually it was in the 3.89-4.09-ish range...). And $3.89 to $4.19 in West Virginia. And about the same I think in Virginia and Maryland... But I was starting to lose track around that time... And about $4.45-ish in PA, and $4.35-ish in NJ. I learned all that yesterday.
  4. He chooses whoever licks his boots the most.
  5. Either this one: Or this one: Which do you prefer?
  6. This is NOT a true statement. YOU are ignoring the fact that bi-partisan legislation (that would be both Republicans AND Democrats... case 'ya didn't know) was sent to Trump for $25 BILLION in wall-funding. And some kind of amnesty for Dreamers. Which Steven Miller hated and therefore told Trump to shoot it down... which he did. Like MB said: Coulter whined and Trump folded... on a BI-PARTISAN $25 BILLION bill... like a cheap house of cards. EDIT: Stephen, not Steven. Steven would tell me to go Fly Like an Eagle...
  7. I've watched a little Python... But just a little... And apparently it didn't stick...
  8. I don't understand having any enthusiasm for Barnhardt. Why? He was, and was always going to be... Nothing more than a 1-year stop gap. Maybe you're mistaking "Good, we got a guy who can cover us for a year and he's got a good glove and a little pop in his bat" for enthusiasm?
  9. I wouldn't know... I'm an atheist. 😁
  10. It's not great. It's not terrible. It just doesn't matter. Certainly not his very first game after all his recoveries. Like Edman said... he could be toast (he was more unequivocal about that...). But if he ever does recover and turn into something instead of nothing... that 3 2/3 innings means: absolutely nothing.
  11. ... don't matter one iota.
  12. Yeah... I think you're only going to get one premium, close-to-the-majors guy in dealing Skubal... I have my eye on a couple guys because that's who I want/ am targeting. But the other team has to agree. If not... move on to another team, or if there's no deal good enough to be had then, no trade. But outside of one premium guy who might be a double-A/close-to-the-majors guy.... the rest of any prospect package will be lower level guys... If I want to send Skubal and Soto to the Cardinals or Rangers for Walker or Jung (first they have to agree to that... but on that end... I believe both those teams have a serious interest in Skubal if the rumors are to be believed...?); we'll get more prospects than just the one... but those extra prospects will be the A/Low-A/Rookie league guys. With potential.
  13. I want Josh Jung or Jordan Walker for Skubal.
  14. Yep! Absolutely! And also... look at Konerko's first 2 years in the league. Very similar struggles. He broke out at 23, 3rd year in...
  15. Small items that I can drop into a padded envelope and ship through USPS. So, yeah...
  16. Actually that was a Jason Beck tweet embedded in a Day article for Bless You Boys... Just wanted to be technically correct here...
  17. Brandon Day says the Tigers signed Norris in order to stretch him out as a starter to absorb innings when a bunch of our guys hit innings limits in a month or so... Makes sense.
  18. No on Gallo. We already have 6 Gallo's on our team... why would we want to add one more?
  19. A-Hah! I wasn't paying attention to that part... Even better.
  20. The issue is not Mutual Assured Destruction. The issue is to prevent Putin from using military violence to take whatever he wants to take. And to prevent his murder, rape, and other war criming. Nukes in Europe will give him more than pause. He won't attack NATO, even tiny little next-door neighbor Estonia... if the proper deterrence is in place. Just like the lack of nukes in Ukraine DIDN'T stop him from taking Crimea and trying to take over the entire country.
  21. Bingo. G2 nailed it. Russia agreed to protect Ukraine (along with the US and others) in exchange for Ukraine giving up all its nukes. December 5th, 1994. So where is Ukraine now, with regards to Russia's "protection". How much land has Russia/ Putin stolen from Ukraine, after Ukraine gave up its nukes?
  22. He's been up and down this year (OPS by month prior to July): April .815 May .572 June .891 And I thought he was in the low .600's in July... but he must have gotten hot the past week or so, so now he's up to G2's .806 OPS for July. I had written him off. But he fixed his swing last off-season and apparently it's taking.... He's trying desperately to regain his prospect status so... Yeah... he might make it to a Detroit stint before his brother gets back...
  23. And once again, you're making an assumption that Putin is just going to stop because an "agreement" was signed. Did you not read my prior post? Putin signed an agreement on grain... for both countries (allowing Ukraine to ship). And then just shit all over that agreement. He has no respect whatsoever for your "agreements". They mean NOTHING to him. I think you're being Pollyannish. And I'm not saying that to be mean... I believe that is the correct word. In that you are completely disregarding who Putin actually is because of your overwhelming desire for an agreement. You're thinking roses and Putin is thinking I WANT LAND. So... you are ALSO making an assumption that Putin even wants to sign that agreement because removing nukes is so appealing to him that he should give up his Czar Peter the Great delusions... Which I believe to be another false assumption. Before posting again on how badly you want this agreement, or how badly it is needed... Think about what Putin actually wants. Start from that point and see if you can get to an agreement. Because I don't think you can. Do you think Putin is going to give up one inch of Ukrainian land that he now controls, to go back to the pre-2022 controlled land? That answer is no. Unless he is forced to give up that land by losing on the battlefield. He is NOT going to give up that land for your nukes or an end to hostilities. He WANTS those hostilities and he WANTS Ukrainian land. All of it. Period. And I didn't even mention what Ukraine wants. Or what the rest of Europe wants, in the way of security... Do you want just the US to pull out its nukes? Or are you going to force France and the UK (also obviously a part of Europe and of NATO) to give up their own nukes as well?
