PS: Why would you punch a director for your own lack of ability to comprehend?
-
Yeah... it wasn't a con at all. It was a conservative group of people trying to hide from modern times and live like "in olden days"... And using scary tactics to try and scare everyone into line, and away from exploring back into the modern world. I got it. It was a cool story. I don't think tater "got it".

If I were looking to replace "bullpen", for whatever reason... My preference would be more like "Reliever Reserve" or, "The Reserve" for short. I would avoid "The Reservation" for some, uhhh, negative connotations. But "The Reserve" I think is workable.
-
Isn't that supposed to be "butt cushion" or "nap location"?
-
I'll survive too. My preference is that they work something out but... Yeah... It takes two to tango.

Does anyone else think that Cloud Atlas just really, really, sucked?
-
So it sounds like you have just permanently closed that door. If the Org has... oh well, I will concede. If the Org hasn't, and still thinks it can reach CJ... well, I'll just leave that door open, personally, just in case...
-
I agree that's not a good sign... player/ culture-wise... But I'm still holding back on judgement because I think a large part of that is the influence of sub-par players on culture. Not because they are bad culture but, because they are bad players. And if Swift becomes part of the problem instead of the solution then, I think that will suck for us because he is one of the young players we would like to see succeed but... I also think that we'll just have to see how the Org fixes the player/ talent issue before we can really get a read on the culture issue...
-
If that's his stance then, yes, he can just go away. If the Lions offer to negotiate and he says "screw you" then... yeah, same message back to ya' CJ... But did the team make that offer? I mean, I don't know about that...
-
I said before the season that there were too many unknowns to even hazard a guess. Could be 3? 6? or 9? wins, or somewhere in between? Lose 5 or 6 of their best players and they may end up with 0 or 1 or 2 wins? I didn't expect this... but I'm not surprised. A lot of the "unknowns" before this season are becoming known. I don't feel I've revisioned anything. (I mean... personally).
-
I meant on a game-by-game basis. Sometimes they look like a monster (in several games), sometimes above-average (I think better than middle-of-the-pack...), and sometimes a non-productive game. Bertuzzi-Larkin-Mantha looked like a monster line for half a season before injuries started to set in... even with Mantha coasting a lot... so I get trying to NOT be premature on this... But I did say world-beating "at times" and I believe I can stick with that... to-date. We'll see how the rest of the season goes to get a better/ fuller read on this line...
-
Then negotiate. That's all I'm saying...
-
The last two games are meaningless. Before the season I didn't care about wins and losses.. and I don't right now. As for the really, really crappy game they played against the Eagles... I have no opinion until this team gets better players. Which is not probable until at least 2022, possibly even 2023.
-
I'm saying the team, if they really want to heal this wound, can negotiate with CJ and if they pay him $1.8M for appearances or $1.6M for appearances... I could care less. I would prefer/ I think it would be better for the team & CJ, to get this resolved. I'm not really invested in this... It's just up to the two sides to decide, or not, if they want to resolve/ negotiate/ finalize this...
-
So go tell Sheila this is unacceptable and you want everyone fired.
-
If it's 1.8M instead of 1.6M are the Lions going to go bankrupt? Does it kill them that bad?

Italy also had direct connections to Wuhan. That's why Italy...

This pisses me off as well. "Buy American" doesn't solve anything, especially our highest-in-the-world labor costs. I have an idea... how about these dunces start asking the correct question: "Where are the next high-paying jobs for blue collar workers in America." It's certainly not at Wal-Mart, McDonalds, or the coal industry. But they don't have the intelligence to look forward and see past their cultural grievances... Forget what China has taken. How about focusing on: Solar panel installation, both residentially and commercially; EV manufacturing, EV Battery system manufacturing, national roll-out of charging stations, national infrastructure, manufacturing for the public-private Space Industry, manufacturing for the Military-Industrial complex, long-needed affordable housing build-out, etc..."
-
I believe CJ complained that he was just getting back the bonus $$$ he had been forced to give up and was against that... It seems the simple solution would be for the two sides to negotiate and if it ends up as $1.8M or $2.4M for 3 years, or whatever, to make appearances... that the two sides could get to some type of agreement that would allow both sides to save face/ move on/ get to a comfortable safe space and: That would be better for both the Org/ CJ in an all-encompassing way...

So that currently looks like Raymond-Larkin-Bertuzzi... which has looked world-beating at times... And if Tuz or Raymond is out... that probably means shift Vrana up a line (when he becomes available) and just "make-do" on the 2nd line with Fabbri-Veleno-Zadina instead? The Red Wings: Need. More. Good. Players.
-
Specifically... If you call a TO on 3rd down, you can run TWO plays out of the TO... IE: If we don't make a 1st and it's 4th and short "run this play", and if 4th and long "run this play". If we make a 1st then "run this play". After the 3rd down, THEN you might be able to catch the D off-guard by running up to the line without a huddle and firing off a quick play...

I've gotten into purchasing the complete series of some shows just to have it on hand and available whenever I want it. (Especially if it is no longer on Netflix). One dastardly example is Star Trek Voyager, which I was just in the middle of season 3 when they cancelled it on Netflix so I bought the complete series to finish it at my convenience... I like the personal library aspect of it... and the lack of commercials. So series I never saw or only a few episodes that I never had time to follow up on: The Americans. Mad Men. Two series that I really want to see (both then & now) but never had the time... I bought the complete set and, some day, will spend the time to watch everything.

Watching the Series of Unfortunate Events from Netflix (season 2) right now. And also ready to jump into Fargo season 3...

Same here. Veleno is not a world-beater with speed, etc... but I think he could be effective between the two of them. I'm just searching for another effective line that can actually be dangerous scoring points other than Larkin's line. We've been stuck on one effective line for quite a few years. I have a hard... errr... I would be very excited to see what a Vrana-Veleno-Zadina line could do. Starting with the Zadina-Vrana chemistry... PS: And I'm perfectly fine leaving Raymond on Larkin's line...

I don't see the difference, with regards to the current admin (both coaches and Admin). I don't agree with this. IMO, regardless of the record, even if 0-17... both coaches and admin will get a couple of years to (A) fix the talent level of the team and (B) Coach them up. I watched Sundays game (as much as I could stomach) and Goff's plentiful errors shouldn't land on the coaches; Swift lining up on the line instead of off... is that coaching, or Swift making a mental error? Same with 10 men on the field: coaches, or did a player screw up? A lot of the mental errors or hitting the wrong gap, etc.: coaches, or inferior players making mistakes? And to someone else's point: Campbell feels like he has to take extra aggressive measures (all the 4th down attempts, instead of a few that should have been points (FG's) taken) due to the inferior roster. There are some mental or other coaching errors... but I think they get the same two years to fix all of those as the Admin gets to fix the roster. IMO.
