Man, I needed a great game for the Tigers. It is such a dreary Sunday in Detroit today. Just awful. I overdid my yard work yesterday because I knew this rain was coming. I worked so hard (because it was cool out) that I made myself sick (took too much Kratom too). But hey, the yard looks grea..........well, the yard looks way less crappy today. But today in the D, Bert...........It's that cool dampness that permeates everything. It goes right through you. When does Reese Olson graduate high school?

I just don't think he's ever going to be an everyday big league player. He's just one of those Tweeners. Too good for Triple A, Not good enough to start at MLB.

I missed the game last night I watch the highlight version. There was a dust-up early. I guess an Angels player struck out and Skubal got fired up and he didn't like it. But the play before, was that when Tim Anderson did a sac bunt? Let me guess. Tim Anderson laid down the bunt and then celebrated and trash-talked back to the bench, didn't he? Because every time he get a base hit he acts like he won the world series. So Skubal merely did the same thing. I know Anderson is behind this crap. Can't stand him. Doing your job doesn't mean you get to celebrate it.

I don't even care about the Trout/Miggy comparisons. I just find it incredibly sad that a guy who was destined to be one of the top 3 or 4 players of all time has broken down so young. Heck, is there something with the ground they're playing on in Anaheim? Is it like playing on the Silverdome astroturf, ,which was a shag rug on a slap of concrete? Seems like a lot of Angel players have a lot of leg injuries. It sucks. There doesn't seem to be anything unlikable about Mike Trout, other than he is the hitter that burned your pitcher -- back in the day.

Haven't heard anything about The New Pornographers since their drummer got busted for child porn a few weeks ago. I would imagine a name change is a must. I know they named themselves after some 60's movie, but they can't continue under that name, but they've been pretty quiet. There was a band out of Detroit called Mac Saturn. They were about to release an album in January 2024. It was really good. These guys were like the Black Crowes with a extra dash of funk. They had a fantastic single called Mint Julep. ON THE DAY of their album release, their keyboard player got busted by the FBI for child porn. Pretty much ended the band right there. There have been accusations of other bad behavior - but not to they keyboardist's level. I don't know what to do with Arcade Fire. Their main guy, Win Butler, was accused of inappropriate behavior with younger women, but I think they were of legal age. But that was over 3 years ago and nothing really came of it. They have a new album and I wonder if they have a great radio song on the album, what's going to happen if we play it on the air in liberal Ann Arbor. I'm a liberal too, but if we start dropping bands and artist over bad behavior, there's going to be nobody left to play.

You made me think of that corny song "Shannon has gone, I hope she's drifting out to sea..." It was about Carl Wilson's dog dying. I also had a dog named Shannon in the late 70s and I hated that song.

And I am sure he doesn't need anyone to tell him that. He knows. Now we see what he's made of. We know he's got the talent but does he have the will to destroy to get to the next level? We'll find out. They can't sit still. They have to find ways to get a couple players here. Gotta be creative. We won't get any stars to come here, Detroit's not a glamourous place, even though it's better. Gotta find the right mix of guys. They have encouraging youth with Cade, Thompson, Holland, Duren and Ivey to build around.

Hell of a season, Pistons. One of the greatest single-season turnaround in Detroit sports history. Right up there with the 2006 Tigers. Couldn't close them out in 3 of the games in the playoffs. That's common for a young team, gotta learn that. Need a healthy Jaden Ivey and one more player next year. You've got expectations now. That's a good things. The Bad Boys and Goin' To Work Pistons went through this at the start too. I'm not bagging on Cade too much, it's part of learning. Remember, Isaiah threw the inbound pass away against the Celtics.

I really want to know the backstory of what was going on with this fan in Pittsburgh. Was he totally drunk? Was he trying to do some sort of stunt? Was it a suicide attempt? Did he try to do a handstand on that railing? That was so bizarre. It almost look like something fake, but he landed on his head and he is in critical condition. If he does recover, the chances of him having a memory of the event are pretty slim.

We're hoping that by the time Skubal is ready for Free Agency, that Jobe is the new ace. I think that's why they brought him up now - to learn now so by 2027 when Meadows, Carpenter, Greene and Tork are in their prime and McGonigle, Max Clark, Liranzo are coming up, they're won't need a Skubal quite as much. But, I just have a strong feeling that we won't even have a season in 2027. This upcoming CBA is going to be a war.
