  1. Id like to see some more pre snap motion in the second half with maybe a jet sweep or two to try to throw off this TB defense a bit.
  2. Per Birkett, Montgomery is questionable to return with a rib injury.
  3. Jesus that was one of the best blocks from a WR/RB I have ever seen!
  4. I don't agree with it at all but the only thing I can think of is that they were hoping to catch the Bucs off guard and pick up atleast 4 or 5 to set up a 4th and short.
  5. I was too young to watch Harbaugh play but in my 30 some years of watching Michigan he certainly has the most talent that I have seen save for maybe Drew Henson. Yeah they haven't played anybody this year but there's a saying "scout the player, not the opponent" and doing that you can see the ability of McCarthy. You see him throw darts moving to left(TD against Nebraska comes to mind), throwing lasers in the crease, moving around in the pocket well, ability to pick up yards scrambling, ability to go through progressions and arm strength to throw balls in tight windows. Basically everything you look for in a QB.
  6. I meant even taking him out earlier than he would in a normal blowout win.
  7. I just hope Jim is careful with JJ, if it's a blow out I'd take him out the first chance I get cause I wouldn't put it past Sparty to take some cheap shots on him.
  8. BTW I did that "Playoff Predictor" on ESPN where you can pick how different outcomes would play out and according to that if Michigan loses to Penn St. or OSU but still gets to the conference championship and wins it they have like a 60% chance of making it, if they lose to 1 but don't get to the Conference Championship that number plummets to just 23%. Not sure how the tiebreaker would work if all 3 teams end up with 1 loss but as of now it seem pretty imperative that Michigan wins that if they were to lose to one of those teams. Also if for some reason they were to lose to somebody other than them two but beat both of them and finish as a 1 loss conference champion their chances are 89%.
  9. I really hate the fact that there are only 3 good teams in the B1G and the fact that we don't face 1 of them till November. Don't get me wrong I love seeing blowouts but my favorite part of watching Michigan or CFB in general is the feeling of those big games and we obviously haven't had any of those yet.
  10. The contract is bad enough but you then have to also account for the draft capital they gave up just to have the right to give out said contract. All things considered it Could very well end up being the worst transaction in NFL history and that includes the Hershel Walker trade.
  11. That TCU win doesn't appear to look so impressive now after they lose back to back games against Iowa State and West Virginia. Aside from that Colorado needed double OT to beat Colorado State, barely beat a terrible Sun Devil team and got blown out by the two good teams they faced. Not gonna deny that they aren't better than last year but it would be hard not to improve over that team but it seems that the national media was a bit premature with their crowning of Deion being this savior and second coming of Vince Lombardi after a few wins to start the season.
  12. Gibbs, Branch, Jonah Jackson and Paschal all ruled out. LaPorta questionable. Good news is that St. Brown is back and Decker and Ragnow practiced without restrictions so they seem to be close to 100% after playing banged up most of the year.
  13. So Greene's injury was entirely due to that diving catch? I was under the assumption that it was his throwing arm and it had a ton of stress built up on it over time and that catch was the last straw. Finding out that it wasn't his throwing arm throws that assumption out the window. Has to be the first time ever, atleast at the major league level where a player tore his ucl from an impact play like diving on the ground.
  14. The Lions installed new turf at their practice facilities this year, wonder if that has anything to do with the injuries? Remember that we dodged a bullet with the CJGJ the first day of camp where he went down with a non contact injury as well. I know they installed the same at Ford Field as well so that's prob not the case but perhaps not all of them are the exact same, idk prob just random injuries but just throwing this possibility out there.
  15. To me at this point Goff, Hutch and Sewell are the core guys who I want to keep at all costs long term. Id like to keep St.Brown long term as well but I think he would be easier to replace then the core 3 I mentioned so he wouldn't be as much of a priority for me, McNeill falls into this as well. You're not gonna be able to keep everybody but fortunately we have a little time before we are forced to choose who we don't pay and by then hopefully Brad will have already drafted a guy(s) could be the replacement.
  16. On the subject of JV for those that give a crap about stuff like this(I personally don't) yet another deep postseason run will almost assuredly mean he will be going into Cooperstown town as an Astro or at the very least will probably end up being remembered by people as an Astro and not Tiger.
  17. I think Tampa has a pretty good roster and the only reason I didnt give them a chance this year was their qb play but if (big if) Mayfield continues to perform at or near the level he has been playing at there is no reason they can't be a 9+ win team, especially given their division.
  18. It is hard to win on the road(even if there should be a lot of Lions fan there), especially against a decent team. Of course if the Lions do end up losing Sunday people won't remember this fact, it'll be all doom and gloom because to some fans they expect you to win every game in the NFL despite predicting you to lose 5 or more games throughout the season.
  19. I think there is benefit for a team like Michigan to play a quality opponent, maybe not so much in the expanded playoff but how things are currently. Reason being that theres a good chance they will need to be undefeated to make the playoff due to their schedule which means that everything will hinge on the outcome of the Ohio State game. Now if they scheduled an elite opponent early and won they then could afford to lose to OSU cause they'd have that elite win to fall back on. If they lose to that elite team its not a season killer, you just have to run the table and beat OSU to get in, basically the same as you have to do now anyway.
  20. To me cornerback is the biggest one. We're another injury or player taking a downward spiral away from being in major trouble there. Id rather be proactive and get a player now just incase those things happen.
  21. Jamo, Paschel and Levi havent produced yet as 1st or 2nd rounders either so its not like every early pick he gets is a guaranteed home run.
  22. After reading a few articles this morning sounds like Surtain is untouchable as the Broncos want to keep him as a building block. Oh well Probably would've taken atleast what the Rams gave up for Ramsey so unlikely Brad would've parted with that much anyway.
  23. On top of all the aforementioned young players on the roster Baltimore also has the top system in baseball with several top 50 prospects including the consensus number 1 so they should be a force for years to come. Given the nature of the playoffs don't know if that will lead to any World Series wins or appearances but they should have plenty of cracks at it in the next several years and beyond.
  24. Crosby, Surtain and Chase Young are definitely 3 guys I would look at heavily. I wouldn't want to overpay since you're gonna have to likely give them new contracts pretty soon but Id certainly be willing to give up some valuable picks for them, particularly the first two. Also I wouldn't view it has giving up on the future if we did so since all of them would be around and likely producing at a high level for the foreseeable future.
