  1. The Ripken card along with the Sam Vincent with Michael Jordan wearing the number 12 in the background were the big chases in terms of random cards for me and my friends as kids.
  2. Of the Tigers 5 losses this year 1 was in extra innings and another 3 were by 1 run. They also have had leads in all but 2 of the games. They are a collective 2-4 in extras and 1 run games so with optimal luck they could be looking at an even better start right now.
  3. The promising thing is that atleast on the hitting side they're not doing this by having everybody hitting over their heads to the point you just know total regression will come. Guys like Dingler and Mckinstry are almost certainly going to regress and even if Tork is for real he's likely not going to continue this pace but otoh Greene has room to improve as does Carp and Keith to offset that if and when it does come. Not to mention Vierling and Torres return and hopefully(not counting on it though) Meadows at some point. I worry about the starting pitching depth when the inevitable happens but if Cobb can get healthy and Montero can get back to what he was last year that could help there. Not to mention every team lacks in that regard so as long as Skubal, Flaherty and atleast one of Mize/Jobe/Olson all continue to excel you can survive with a patchwork number 4 and 5 if it does indeed come to that. One more potential bonus is that if we do choose to be buyers or need to upgrade somewhere we have the ammunition in our farm system to get it done as well.
  4. Yeah not many, ironically one of the few that comes to mind that did work out is one where we presumably didn't want to pay the amount to keep him(I say presumably cause it could have been his choice) and that's Scherzer's deal with Washington. Don't remember the exact details of it but I know he was dominant there just about every year and won multiple Cy Youngs so I'm sure Washington was more than happy with it.
  5. With the 6 shutout innings today for Jobe that now leaves only Olson as our only starter not to have atleast one start with no runs allowed. Pretty impressive given none have made more than 3 starts as of now.
  6. I gave up on Manning a couple seasons ago atleast as a starter, best case scenario for him is he carves out a career as a multi inning reliever but I'm skeptical of even that from him. Just way too inconsistent for me to want to trust him in any type of high leverage role.
  7. Bobby Witt should consider himself lucky to featured on the same graphic as McKinstry.
  8. Lol at the Twins only being 1 up on the White Sox.
  9. Judge with the deer in the headlights look after Holton snagged that.
  10. I'm actually digging those.
  11. I'd really like to get a couple but I guess I'd settle for one just to say we actually won a playoff game. I mean the original iPhone wasn't even a year old and the OKC Thunder had yet to play a game the last time we could say that.
  12. Ha those are the official dispenser at my work. Tork branded tp dispensers as well.
  13. If every game Lavine played was against the Pistons he would be ahead of LeBron on the scoring list. I swear he averages over 40 a game against us.
  14. Cooper Flagg has to go to the Jazz, any white American worth a damn in the NBA has played for the Jazz. It's Cooper's destiny.
  15. Maybe it's not as impressive or rare as I think but on the surface I think it's pretty impressive to think that there are still 6 guys in the MLB from our team 11 seasons ago, especially considering IIRC we were considered "old" with a bad farm system and not alot of quality young players at that time. Also I legit have no recollection of Joe Matinply at all so the fact that 9 years later he is still in the league is really crazy to me.
  16. Yankees swung 8 times at Mize's splitter, they whiffed on 6 of them.
  17. I'm hoping that Keith just didn't see the ball off the bat so instinctively he went back to 3rd, if he actually saw it then it made no sense cause even if he thought it was gonna be caught it was too shallow to tag on anyway so no need to rush back to the bag to tag up.
  18. Casey has the splitter working!
  19. It bugs me in a sport like basketball where if the player is as great as he thinks he is he could carry a team to at the very least being a contender and with a little help could be a real title threat. OTOH in baseball no matter how great you are you just can't carry a team to the playoffs let alone being a serious contender with out several other good pieces. In that regards I could see going to an established team if you want to win cause no matter what you do your team isn't going to win without getting you help and not just 1 or 2 better pieces like in basketball.
  20. FWIW We just cancelled all sporting events today at the district I work for due to the weather. It's brutal out there and none of us liked the idea of high school kids throwing baseballs in this weather.
  21. That's wild to have 25HRs in just 370 PAs as a team. If that was a single player that would be like what a 40HR pace for a full season? So as a team they are hitting HRs at a rate that the top 1% of HR hitters would be happy with.
  22. He made the top 10 but Upton and Schoop were the top 2.
  23. May have been, just checked the list again and it isn't in the top 10 and the earliest on there is 2016.
  24. I only saw the top 5 and that one didn't make it.
