  1. Definitely one of the frontrunners, also got to give props to their GM, he took a lot of heat for trading Hali for Sabonis and then some questioned taking Murray at 4 but it appears both moves have worked out for them.
  2. Yeah that would be a great scenario and something that wouldn't be that far fetched. If that were to happen then it would actually be the starting pitching that was holding back the rebuild, 2-3 years ago it seemed like that was going to be the strength of it, yet another example of how you can't depend on building through young pitching.
  3. The bottom of the west playoff race is wild. I kinda feel for Sacramento, they finally not only earn a playoff spot but get a 3 seed and their reward could be GSW, a healthy LeBron/AD, the Clips or Luka.
  4. Witherspoon was my number 1 CB and those numbers just solidified that.
  5. I can't remember the exact stat they used, it may have been WPA combined with something else but anyway I remember reading this article years ago that actually justified Miggy getting the MVP over Trout in 2012 based off this modified version of WAR that they used. I'm gonna have to try to dig it up.
  6. I remember a Sports Medicine Doctor I follow on YT bringing up Zion's biomechanics as a red flag for future injury concerns. He talked about how he walked, how his hip, knees and feet didn't line up right and it concerned him and this didn't even factor his size either.
  7. I wouldn't say age is irrelevant but I don't put that much stock into it at all when it comes to qbs. Theres countless examples of them excelling well into their 30s so even if their first year is 26 you still can get a ton of high quality years out of them. The exception of course is for guys like Fields who depend heavily on their athleticism but I don't think Hooker is necessarily like that.
  8. Speaking of Victor has there been any concerns about him from scouts or is he still seen as the best prospect since Lebron? Just curious cause usually even the best prospects start to get prospect fatigue or whatever you want to call it, basically the longer you go as the number 1 guy the more people magnify your game or try to find holes in it. Wiggins, Simmons and to some extent Zion come to mind in regards to this.
  9. Said the same thing yesterday morning and that's that it's nice to not only wake up to a win but to see that the young guys were a big reason why and unlike yesterday I can add Tork's name to that list as well! Perhaps I should start going to bed early before the games are over more often.
  10. Ivey and Duren with a couple of great box score games too bad that still wasn't enough for the Pistons to end their streak.
  11. Valdez's fastball is just wicked. I don't know how Tork even got a piece of the one that was thrown to him.
  12. Rogers wisely lets the ball roll foul but considering it's Alvarez at the plate maybe just letting it go fair and giving him first may not have been the worst outcome.
  13. That was probably the first decent breaking ball Manning has thrown today but unfortunately for him the hitter just got a piece of it and it ended up being placed beautifully.
  14. Manning throwing 91-92 with breaking balls that haven't been within a foot of the zone. Yeah this isn't going to be good.
  15. Alvarez has one of the more intimidating profiles in the batter's box that I can remember, definitely gives me David Ortiz like vibes.
  16. Schoop had that 1 month hot stretch that he parlayed into an extension but outside of that month has he hit at all since he been here?
  17. I dont like the idea of not getting a db but Bijan and Campbell are two of my personal favorites in the draft so Id be more than happy to walk away with them two.
  18. As we're nearing the end of the season just want to thank Cas for doing these game threads. It sucks that it was yet another disappointing season so we didnt get much action in the threads but hopefully that will change next year when Cade comes back, Casey is gone and Wembenyana comes to save the day.
  19. Always a bonus to wake up and find out that not only did we win but we won in large part due to guys who are part of our future like Greene and Vierling. Now we just need Tork to get going.
  20. Oh yeah it was definitely horrible from the start but if they got atleast a 2-3 years of a top seed and deep playoff run like I'm sure they were hoping/expecting it wouldn't have been as terrible for them but that is starting to look more and more like that's never going to happen.
  21. Its only an one incident with just me but a guy I work with today asked me if I was going to Opening Day and I told him I haven't been down there for that in several years and he's like "Either have I but it's Miggy's last opener so I figured Id go down cause of that." He's not quite a casual fan but not a diehard either so I wonder how many fans like him have the same mindset.
  22. I hope the Lions are atleast kicking the tires on this. To me this would be a dream scenario and seems to be a perfect fit and trade for both teams.
  23. That Gobert trade just looks worse and worse.
  24. I was just a dumb kid and teen in the 90s that didn't pay attention to things closely so morale was probably worse then but in atleast my adult lifetime this is lowest I felt in regards to team winning. It feels like we are farther away from competing than any point since maybe 2003. I see no light at the end of the tunnel. Only hope is maybe all the new staff can untap some potential from our minor leaguers and Harris can nail this upcoming draft.
