  1. I dont see why it should make a diff where you gamble at but rules are rules and if he knew that and still did it then I have to question his intelligence.
  2. I just liked the threat of Jamo, even if he didn't put up big numbers I thought he would still help the offense greatly because of his speed. Oh well atleast its only 6 games, hopefully theyll be fine.
  3. I wanted Tillman before hand now I definitely want him!
  4. What a kick in the nuts, I figured things were going to good and something bad would happen but I thought we atleast make it to training camp.
  5. If Bryce Young was just a few inches taller and 20lbs heavier he would be the perfect prospect. I love his on field skills, character, leadership qualities etc. If the size doesn't end up being an issue I think he's gonna be one of the elite qbs in a couple years. But that's a big If.
  6. LV just has such a small market compared to other teams it takes a much higher percentage of people going to the game to fill the stadium. For reference their local population is about only half of Detroit and Detroit is considered mid market.
  7. I been to Vegas probably a half dozen times in the summer since my parents were major gamblers so our "family summer trip" would be there and it was always unbearable. My brothers and I would spend all the time by the pool or in the air conditioned arcades that all the casinos had at that time.
  8. I was gonna bring up the Golden Knights and how LV took to them but I didn't think it was an apples to apples comparison. For starters it was their first pro sports team and was their very own, not a team that relocated. Also they were highly successful from start even making it to the Cup Finals their very first year. That kinda success right out of the gate is the perfect recipe to engage and build the fanbase. Finally even though the Knights do have a relatively strong base its alot easier to fill a hockey arena than a baseball stadium. Your point about opposing fans is noted though and I agree with that possibility.
  9. Yeah I was gonna mention that too, just like you used to see pitchers shag flyballs in bp(idk maybe they still do) you likely see OFers mess around in the infield. Same with all sports I guess, Im sure tackles in football goof off at practice sometimes and run WR routes or something. Speaking of that I get a kick out when announcers or fans make a big deal when an OT makes a catch out of the backfield. They act like these guys aren't professional athletes that live and breathe football who have played since they could walk. Im pretty sure they are more than capable of catching a 5-10 yard pass.
  10. I too am in no hurry to see him up here cause I think it would be in his best interest development wise to stay in Toledo for atleast half the season but I just think if there were to be an injury involved to the Tigers, particularly one that could give him reps at 3b he would be the one called upon.
  11. The hardest part was the throw but still that is relatively easy play for a big leaguer. To me the most impressive thing is that there was no hesitation or indecisiveness that you may see from a player at a new position. He immediately went straight to 2nd and jumped off the base to make the throw just like a regular SS would. I think it just shows how talented these big leaguers are, almost all of them played SS and were the dominant player on their teams/league growing up. I think that type of athleticism, skill and feel for the game doesn't just go away for these players. Atleast for the most part.
  12. May happen but since they moved the LF fence way back I think it's been tough for RH hitters there. I guess Miggy gets most of his nowadays to RF so I suppose for him that wont matter.
  13. Yeah they'll have a new stadium but I just don't see how things will be any better for the A's in LV. I heard they are banking on alot of the tourists going to games but really with all the things to do in Vegas why would one choose to go to baseball game when you can do that anywhere in the country? Even if they did you would need a big chunk of those people to go to the games to make any tangible difference. As far as the local market, its a pretty small market so presumably you're not going to get a alot of people watching the games and TV ratings are like the biggest revenue source for MLB teams now. I guess it's going to come down to how committed to winning Fisher is,if he puts forth the resources to have a consistent winning team then maybe the locals will come out in droves but if he runs it the same way I don't see how it's going to be any different. Much like how people thought a new stadium would get people to come out and watch the Marlins. Made little difference.
  14. Yeah it's not like he had to actually "turn it", just a simple ground ball right to you that any High School player worth his weight in salt would gobble up followed by running to the bag and throwing it. I guess the maybe the impressive thing was the instincts to go straight to 2nd and then make an accurate throw but even that I think any professional(including minor leaguers) would be able to do that the vast majority of the time.
  15. I know things are obviously different nowadays with the advent of the internet and the ease to which highlights from prior generations but in scenarios like this I like to compare it to what it would be like for myself and for me it would be like talking about a guy that retired in the mid 1970s like say a Johnny Unitas and to me Unitas just feels like somebody my Grandfather would've watched. It just seems so crazy when I put it in that context.
  16. Kawhi out for game 3 with a knee injury. I love Kawhi but he's like Anthony Davis, seems like he is always injured!
  17. JHM finishes 2-4 with the aforementioned HR and a walk. You gotta think he's gonna be first in line when a position spot comes available for the Tigers.
  18. Yeah that's what I've been doing too.
  19. So it looks like many of the journalists aren't going to pay the $8 a month for their blue check mark so for those that get their news from twitter like me we'll have to keep a close eye on any posts we see cause I'm sure there are just going to be even more troll/fake accounts that try to fool people.
  20. Poor Slay, he just signed his extension too! BTW Patricia must be a helluva interviewer to land all the jobs he has gotten because his results and player feedback haven't exactly been stellar.
  21. Yes this is what I always thought and why I originally thought notorious streaky hitters like Upton and Javy could've been more valuable for the Tigers in terms of w/l than their WAR indicated. I theorized that maybe during their hot stretches they could help carry the offense and during their cold stretches we would have other guys to step up to offset. Unfortunately their cold stretches were worse than I expected and it coincided with other guys suckling as well.
  22. This is why I want him. I definitely have my concerns about him but I feel he has the most upside to help us in the draft and where were at as a franchise and with the capital we have I think it's worth the gamble. Also I think he at the very least may come out motivated his first year just to prove people wrong.
  23. My dream non trade draft would be Carter at 6, Bijan/Witherspoon at 18 with Campbell and Tillman in the 2nd round. If we don't go db in the 1st then Id probably swap Campbell for a CB if one is available that is worth drafting there.
  24. Also a few days before the 22 draft Vegas suddenly made Travon Walker the favorite to go 1 and of course he did. I don't doubt for a second that they have more intel then fans or beat writers.
