Also for the record I'm talking about how the qbs are viewed at the time of the draft and how teams value them then. The guys in this class may very well turn out better in the pros than guys next year but I think come draft time next year the qbs will be viewed more favorably and be in more demand than the guys this year.

Whoa Vierling getting the CF start, is that the first one of the season there for him? If he can handle himself there that will be a pleasant surprise. -
Yeah but those guys were never as hyped as Caleb or Maye. Plus you also always get breakout guys like Richardson and Hooker this year, zach Wilson, Trey Lance and Mac Jones in 21 that weren't on many people's radars but ended up being top picks that offset the guys that flameout. So the fact that there already 5-6 qbs with 1st round grades including Caleb and Maye who have higher grades than any non Lawrence prospect in 10 years tells me that in all likelihood next year's class will be better.

A win today puts us in 2nd place and only 2 games back of 1st! -
Yeah I was gonna add that caveat to my post but I do think this is one of those years where it will hold true cause people have been pin pointing the 24 class for a couple years now.

Im not worried about Johnson, I mean don't get me wrong I love him and think he is valuable but if you fancy yourself as a good organization you're going to lose coordinators and generally those teams don't miss a beat after they lose them.

A caller brought up an interesting point about Goff and his extension, we all assume that if we offer him up one now he will take it but what if he is the one that wants to wait? I mean he's got another couple years on his current deal and qb prices are only going to go up, couple that with us having a great supporting cast, coaching and high expectations and there is a relatively good chance he repeats or even tops his performance from last year on top of leading us to hopefully a deep playoff run. If that were to happen he could probably write himself a blank check.

I think Williams and Maye will both be better come draft time than Stroud along with the possibility of a few others like hongbit mentioned. With that said I do like Stroud the most out of the past couple drafts but I just think some of the guys next year are those once in 5 year type qb prospects with Caleb being the once in a decade type.(yeah Lawrence was the same just 2 years ago but speaking in generalities)

lol at somebody just writing in "The Grizzlies" for an answer.

Cedric Tillman is starting to be a guy I'm really targeting, I think he would be a great fit for the offense. He's not a perfect prospect which is why he may very well be had in the 2nd or even 3rd but I think he's near perfect for what we need to compliment Jamo and St. Brown. Tillman is a beast in traffic and really can go up and snatch those 50/50 balls and give Goff a more physical outside to throw to. If he can be had with one of our 2nd round picks I think I'd jump at that chance.

I definitely would still prefer to get a younger bigger outside receiver in this draft but having Jones atleast helps alleviate the immediate concern if we decide to wait till next year to take one due to addressing more pressing needs in this draft.
-
Another injury red flag was the fact that he is a pitcher in the Tigers system who was pitching well. That seems to automatically mean an injury is coming up.
-
I guess I was under the impression he was basically taking Chark's role and Chark got a lot of run when he wasn't injured. If he is just a depth piece then I feel we definitely need to add somebody in the draft unless we are planning on trading for somebody like Hopkins or something.
-
I forgot about the Marvin Jones signing so he kinda fits that bill even though at his age he obviously isn't as explosive as somebody we get in the draft but atleast he provides a bit of insurance there and gives us the option to wait till next year to get that guy.
-
If we don't draft Johnston I hope we atleast address that position at some point in the draft whether it be Tillman, AT Perry or somebody else, I just want that big bodied receiver we can line up on the outside cause in this day and age you can never have enough weapons in the NFL.
-
What about Myles Murphy? We've heard about a bunch of other guys on the dline but his name seems to have fallen off the radar. Is he not in play for us at 6 or 18?

We're not allowed to have good things.

Oh yeah for sure, if they didn't open their mouths they wouldn't have gotten "penalized"(put it in quotes cause I think it was a inconsequential penalty). Even if people suspected you can't prove it unless you admit to it, they easily couldve said the players were a little banged up and they wanted them to be 100% for the last couple games and potential play in games.
