  1. Finally we catch a break from a home plate ump!
  2. Hinch should tell Baez to just go up to the plate and keep the bat on his shoulder. If he takes 3 fastballs down the middle for strikes so be it. Better than whiffing on sliders way off the plate.
  3. I seriously don't think I have seen Javy get a hit when I was watching him at the plate all season.
  4. In their latest stretch of offensive futility the Tigers have scored in only 4 of the last 35 innings.
  5. The ball must look like a ping pong ball to Javy right now.
  6. With the way things have gone this series I'm surprised the ball didn't pop over the fence when it came out.
  7. Brieske gives up close to 1500ft of flyballs but makes it through the inning with only 1 run against him.
  8. That's a little bit better. I must've misread his post then cause Sportz is usually accurate about his numbers.
  9. That's what I thought initially but on the replay he wasn't close to going around, if that was indeed the call that may actually be worse than it being a called strike. And as I type this Judge with a leadoff HR. That didn't take long!
  10. Schoop gets called out on strikes on a ball at his shins.
  11. lol, Sportz posted something on his twitter yesterday that I couldn't believe was real and that is that Barnhart only has 1 extra base hit all season and that was a double. Like how can you go almost 2 months with only 1 extra base hit?
  12. Only Jomboy would pick up on something like this, he was the first to publish and breakdown the Astros trash can cheating scandal. Perhaps the Yankees didn't notice it and all this was a coincidence but if not I hope AJ and Co. see this and correct it.
  13. Giancarlo Stanton got activated off the injured list and will play today. I guess he saw the meatballs we were serving up and wanted to make sure he got him some.
  14. The team definitely believes in Willi I will give you that, but I think if everybody was healthy he may still be on the roster but I don't think we would be seeing him nearly that much. He may start here and there to give a guy a breather or used as a pinch hitter if need be but I think that would be it. I do think it's worth noting that even though he only has a .660 OPS that is some 100 points higher than majority of the guys on the team.
  15. Yep, on top of that Baddoo turned into a pumpkin, Reyes got injured and Grossman has been terrible/injured.
  16. Everybody hitting HRs yesterday but us!
  17. We know the offense has been horrendous all year but it has been especially horrendous on the road. This was the 21st true road game(they played a "road game" at Copa so not including that) and in those 21 games this is the 10th time they scored 1 run or less and the 14th time they scored 2 runs or less. So in about half the games they would've needed to pitch a shutout to win and in 2/3rd only give up 1 run to win. Only 5 times have they scored more than 3 runs and one of those took extra innings(only had 2 after 9) to get. Their high water mark for runs on the road is 5. Absolutely pathetic.
  18. Judge and Rizzo have 32HRs combined in roughly 350 ABs, the Tigers have 30HRs as a team in almost 1700 ABs. lol
  19. Not much of note tonight offensively from what I can gather but Ty Madden pitched a gem for WM going 6 innings of 3 hit baseball with 7Ks and no walks. Only run was on a solo shot.
  20. Castro's biggest problem is balls hit right at him, perhaps the Yankees batted ball stats suggests they don't hit many to straight away CF so Hinch thought he may be safe out there?
  21. Jameson Taillon of the Yankees took a perfect game into the 8th last night, Cole has one through 5 tonight. If Cole can match him I wonder when the last time if ever a team went back to back starts of taking a perfect game into the 8th inning?
  22. Denver would be my pick even with them playing it that tough decision. They went 9-8 last year with a plus point differential despite bottom 5 qb play. That is impressive. You swap out bottom 5 with potentially top 10 or maybe even top 5 qb play and you can easily win an extra 4 or 5 games.
  23. Yeah just one of many variables that make it hard to accurately compare fielders' stats. Like say you're an OF that plays behind an extreme strikeout and gb staff so you get limited opportunities, you may end up saving less runs than the player that gets more chances but that doesnt mean you're a worse fielder. The fact that different metrics can spit out drastically different views on guys is all you need to know about the accuracy of fielding stats. Now if all the stats say a guy is great then he probably is, same thing with bad but when you get a mixed bag or its kinda neutral I don't put a ton of stock in them.
  24. May be different if you have an iphone/mac but for android I just Googled "apple tv plus" and it took me right to the site. At the top of the page it had a "watch Friday Night Baseball" link. I imagine once the game starts all you have to do is click on that link.
  25. USC will be back to their old dominant self within a few years. Id go as far as to say they may even overtake Bama as the dominant school.
