  1. But as Buddha has pointed out, taking on salary for extra draft capital is something Weaver has yet to do here so who knows if he is thinking that way, if I were a betting man I'd be more in the camp of him wanting the space to sign guys but who knows.
  2. Yeah I would be happy with that. Also it's hard to say how Milwaukee's surrounding cast will look in 24-25 but with them relying so heavily on Giannis if he were to miss time and get injured that season we could get lucky and that pick could end up in the lottery. It's top 4 protected though but even a mid to late lottery pick would be a welcome bonus to the trade, assuming we still have that pick by then of course.
  3. Waiting for Woj to say we also acquired an 18 year old infielder with no power that projects to move away from SS as well.
  4. I'd probably do it just for one of the picks but if we could get both it would be awfully hard to say no to even in this draft. I like guys like Jalen Duren and Jalen Williams who both could potentially be available there. If we could get them two and say Mathurin/Murray at 5 that would be a great haul.imo
  5. This is the type of move I hope occurs. There's got to be some teams that want to clear space that will give up a pick to do so.
  6. I guess this is only going to put gas on the fire in terms of giving Ayton the max rumors.
  7. That's nice to hear about the pick swap. I know it's still a long shot you're going to get anybody useful in the 2nd round but looking at the class there seems to be a couple potentially useful guys that may still be available in the mid 30s.
  8. Not for a pick anytime soon though.
  9. Welp there it is. I think we all knew deep down we were dreaming when rumors of getting their 8th pick were talked about but still I would have atleast hoped for something better than this. Hard to say how teams are going to be 3 years from now but as long as Milwaukee has Giannis unlikely they are going to be in the lottery so probably a pick around 20 at best...3 years from now. Oh well I guess it gets Grant off our roster and cancels out the 1st we owe to Houston.
  10. A couple days ago he was listed at +700 on Pointsbet and I almost pulled the trigger.
  11. Unless Miggy does get a major injury I don't see a world where he doesn't play next year and really unless Meadows turns it around there may not be a better option for them at DH anyway. Yeah he has no power and doesn't walk like he used to but he atleast can still hit for average and get on base at a decent enough clip, that's more than you can say for majority of their hitters they have on the team or in the upper minors.
  12. I really didn't watch the NFL Draft that closely after the Lions traded up for Jameson but IIRC they actually didn't focus too much on the players still left in the green room like Malik Willis, Matt Corral and others. I wonder if they are going to be the same way for the NBA Draft?
  13. Hinchie wasted no time moving Greene up in the lineup. I wonder if he told Tork that if he wants to hit next to his buddy in lineup he needs to get off his ass and start doing some damage?
  14. Don't know if this just came out or not but it was just posted by MLB Network's twitter so I'm guessing it is. One thing I like is that the higher seed not only gets home field advantage but gets to host all 3 games, I think that is atleast a pretty good incentive for a team to want to be a higher seed. Some may argue about the bye and teams playing worse with it due to the long layoff but I still think that is too small of sample to determine one way or another, I mean how many cases has there really been to determine this? The fact is with the bye you need fewer games to win the World Series than if you didn't have it so that should be considered a good thing.
  15. My guess is yes, yeah he's a headcase but he's one of the most talented players in the league when on the court(admittedly that's getting less and iess) and ultimately that's all teams care about. If he becomes available I'm sure some teams will want to throw big money at him.
  16. If Kyrie becomes a FA I wonder if that could open the door for more teams wanting to clear space to sign him which in turn could lead to us facilitating those moves with our space in return for more draft capital? My first thought was immediately the Lakers but I forgot they already owe their pick to the Pelicans.
  17. After reading some of Sam's guide about Ivey it makes me feel better about him if we do indeed draft him. I trust Sam's opinion so by him putting him in the top tier and saying that he believes he will be a capable outside shooter at the next level it does ease my concerns about that aspect of his game and in turn him as a player. I still think I'd rather have Murray or Mathurin just cause I love the potential immediate contribution they can bring and I feel that they offer a better combination of fit and floor than Ivey while also possessing enough upside to warrant the number 5 pick but after reading Sam's guide I would totally be fine if we do indeed end up with Jaden.
  18. https://theathletic.com/3374301/2022/06/21/mlb-mock-draft-druw-jones/ Link to Law's latest mock. Has us taking a SS out of a Pittsburgh area HS.
  19. Jeez what a tank! Legend has it that Legs try to skip Kyle Farnsworth day.
  20. I of course want them to win as much as possible but just seeing a little power on display and good offensive performances from guys that are going to be here next year atleast make the games a little more enjoyable to watch.
  21. Check that, after seeing the replay I guess it wasn't as low as I thought, looked more to be right in his happy zone than at the bottom of the strike zone.
  22. Whoa Schoop crushed that, didn't appear to be a terrible pitch but he went down and got it at the bottom of the zone and destroyed it.
