Another extra benefit of the Pack losing and perhaps even the Titans is that if the Rams lose today then our pick from them could potentially be 2 spots better than it would have been if those two teams won since the Pack has a better record than them and the Titans have the same record. Not sure how the tie break works in that scenario but the Titans did have a higher seed so that may account for something.

The 49ers were my bandwagon fan 2nd team as a kid/teen in the 90s so that fandom has somewhat carried over to me as an adult. Nothing crazy or anything but I always seem to find myself rooting for them when they are in big games. I also have found myself liking the Bengals and Bills recently so those 3 are the teams I will be pulling for the most the rest of the way.

I think Mitchell may be out for the Jazz tonight, I know he was put in concussion protocol on Wednesday so I think that lasts more than a couple days.

Hopefully guys like Dingler, Kriedler, Keith and Workman can put up good seasons and perhaps make the midseason lists.

If I were him I'd stay away from the Raiders if he wants to win. KC isn't going anywhere as long as they have Mahomes, the Chargers have arguably the best young QB in football and the Broncos are really just a QB away from being elite, and with guys like Rodgers and Russell Wilson possibly available this offseason they may just get that.

Not related to anything but I was listening to the radio a little bit ago and Dickerson was on talking to Caputo. I tuned in mid conversation so I didnt hear the introduction, so between that and Dan sounding way different I had no idea it was him, I just thought it was a regular caller. I dont know if it was his cell phone or what but he just sounded completely different. They were mainly talking Greene and Tork but A couple minutes in I was "damn this is like the most knowledgeable radio caller I ever heard". It wasn't until the call ended and Pat said it was Dan that I realized it was him. They briefly talked about the strike and Dan seemed pretty confident the season would start on time.

There seems to be a growing consensus that there is a 3 man draft at the top followed by a second tier, Ive seen some people put Ivey in that top tier but not sure he would be a fit here anyway. Ive only watched highlight tapes which can obviously skew things but based on those and scouting reports I really want Jabari Smith the most but would be fine with any of the top 3 at this point.

I just caught the tail end of it on the radio but they were talking about how the Pistons made an offer to Philly for Simmons. Gave no details though about what it consisted of. It doesnt seem like he'd be a fit with Cade since he can't shoot but he definitely is long, athletic and talented so lord knows we need that. I imagine that it would take multiple unprotected picks and that's not something Id be willing to part with. If he could be had for any combination of non Cade player on the team and maybe a top 7 protected this year, top 4 next year and unprotected after that Id pull the trigger but surely Philly could do better than that somewhere else.

The Golden State and Chicago blowouts aside, this month they're playing alot better. I believe they are 6-6 in their last 12 which looks pretty good considering the disastrous start. Bey has looked more like he did last year and Cade has played alot better. Hopefully Olynyk being back will help things as well, not too much though I still want that top 4 pick of course.

I totally agree with you that it is about finding impact guys, I'm just not convinced that the guy we are going to get that at 2 this year is that guy. If Suh or Calvin were sitting there at 2 like the last two times we had that pick we wouldn't be having this debate, I'd grab them and run, but they're not, there isn't much difference if any between the mid 1st round guys and the guys at the top this year. With the extra picks we'd get multiple chances to try to get that impact guy along with another chance next year.

Correa probably saw Boras get Seager 325 and figured he'd be the guy to get him Lindor money, and quite frankly if anybody can it would be him. I've said it before but I think it's worth reiterating, there are very few people on Earth better at their respective professions than Boras is at his.

It's not like you can't get a game changer at 15 either, just this past draft the biggest game changer on defense Micah Parsons went 12th. This isn't the NBA where those guys are hard to find.

Most years I wouldnt want to drop that far but if you go by all the pundits grades the guys at 1 and 2 are in the low 90s just like guys in the teens and twenties so it's all about value. Usually you have a 97 or 98 at the top 2 or 3 and by 15 it drops to 92 or 93 but not this year. I think the highest grade I've seen for KT and Hutch is 94 which is only marginally better than the mid to late 1st round guys are graded. So if you can pick up a couple extra 1sts and a mid round pick to get a player of equal skill level why wouldn't you do it?

Id do that trade in a heartbeat. We'd have 4 of the top 34 picks this year as well as 3 first rounders next year. We could potentially get 4 good players this year, then next year with the 3 1st round picks have the ammunition needed to move up in the draft to take a premium qb if we want to go that direction.

Kipers latest mock has us taking Thibs and Sam Howell. On a side note he has Willis as the first QB off the board at 11 to Washington. Also has Pickett and Corrall in the top 20.

The reason I question this is not to say that Stafford is equal to Goff, far from it in fact. Just questioning it due to how the scores played out throughout the season. Like when Goff was injured or really bad that coincided with when LAR were either in their little rough patch and lost a few games anyway or when their schedule eased up and they were winning handily. Also when they turned it on the last 5 or 6 weeks of the season Goff did as well. I think it's fair to think they may have lost a couple more games but even so that still might have given them Arizona the first game, except the game would've been on the road but I don't think that would've mattered much.

I wonder if the Rams would've been in the same position they are now regardless of whether they had Stafford or Goff. If they pulled that same draw in the playoffs they surely would've beaten Arizona with Goff but we of course don't know if the bracket would have been different.
