  1. Assuming Weaver does eventually get canned at some point this season I feel bad for whomever has to come in and try to clean up his mess. They would get gifted a potential young star player in Cade but he's also almost due an extension and who knows if he will even want to stay here. Other than that though there is really not alot of redeeming qualities about this roster. Another good thing though is that given his track record you would get to work with a patient Owner, you figure he's going to give you atleast 4 years to try to get things moving in the right direction before your seat gets hot.
  2. I want to give some excuse in the fact that we didn't get the best of lottery luck 3 of the 4 Weaver years but lets be honest in 2020 he probably would've taken Wiseman first if he had the chance and in 22 taken Ivey at 3 or 4 anyway as well.
  3. I brought this up in a previous game thread but aside from all the physical problems on this team I can't get over how low of IQ they play with so often, especially in transition. Admittedly I've only watched about 10 games this year and of course watch with a closer eye on the Pistons then I do their opponents so maybe other teams have the same problem but I swear so often they will have numbers and it so rarely feels like it leads to an easy bucket due to how they play it. Maybe the stats will show otherwise but I swear the feeling atleast when I watch is that they don't take advantage enough of those opportunities.
  4. Bogey and Burks need to shoot 40%+ from 3 to offset what little else they do, today they were only 5-15. Also is it possible to have both Cade and Ivey play a good game at the same time? Ivey missed so many easy looks along with some free throws.
  5. In a vacuum I like Ausar and Duren and not writing either off yet but its looking like the Pistons would have been better served getting 2 more offensive pieces before worrying about drafting defensive guys in the lottery.
  6. Got to respect the fact that they showed up to work too.
  7. Pistons with a 4th quarter lead!!
  8. Damn only a 1 possession game heading to the 4th! Wow!
  9. Like even if the game was still played like the 1990s I don't see how Wiseman would fit in any better. Atleast guys like Jahlil Okafor and Greg Monroe had some post game that would've fit in that era but Wiseman doesn't even have that.
  10. I really don't understand why Wiseman was so sought after as a prospect and NBA draft pick. Like I see no plus skill that he has that would make teams think so highly of him. Atleast with Duren he is uber athletic but I don't see that with Wiseman, it's like he is just a run of the mill 6'11 guy with no redeeming qualities.
  11. Bogey throwing up Stanley Johnson and Killian Hayesesque bricks. Not even close!
  12. Assuming Ben leaves I think more than likely the Lions will like to promote from within but if they decide to go outside the organization I would really like to look at Ken Dorsey. As QB coach in Carolina that's when Newton and Carolina played their best offensively. Also he really helped turn Josh Allen around when he became QB coach and passing coordinator for the Bills and as OC last year they didn't miss a beat offensively after Daboll left. This year they took a little step back under him but that was mainly due to turnovers, without actually watching all of them I'm not sure how much you could put that on him.
  13. Yep, and aside from Tork they really don't have any real boppers on the team either where you can have an otherwise bad game(s) with the bat but get that bloop and a blast to bail you out. To me that is the biggest problem with the offense. I feel like there is a decent chance that they can be relatively good from an on base stand point but without the big boppers to drive them in you're depending on stringing together a bunch of hits/walks in a row to score which is just tough to do in this day and age with pitchers having the stuff they have now.
  14. The thing about this game is that while I obviously want to win it a loss wouldn't be all that bad for the Lions cause I'd prefer Dallas get the 2 seed over Philly anyway. Even though Dallas plays great at home the Lions also play much better indoors vs. potentially nasty weather in Philly. Also I think Philly would have a better chance of upsetting SF in the 2nd round than Dallas which if everything plays out right could mean the Lions host a playoff game, play an indoor road game at Dallas, and then host the championship game. As long as we don't embarrass ourselves or most importantly get hurt this game is almost a no lose situation in my eyes.
  15. I think 6 is pretty fair when you factor in how the Cowboys play at home and the Lions coming off a huge divisional clinching win. After something like that it's hard to get back up for the next game when it's not really a must win. Yeah it's important for seeding but not a huge deal win or lose, Dallas certainly needs this win more than we do.
  16. And the Ravens proceed to stop them on 3 downs and pick off the 4th down attempt. Now the game is over!
  17. This game isn't quite over yet, 49ers at the 1 yard line trying to make it a 1 score game with all 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning still left.
  18. Didn't Darnold throw a pick 6 to the Patricia Lions on his very first NFL throw? Probably should've known then that he was destined to be an NFL backup at best.
  19. Agreed, they are definitely the team I want to avoid most in the 1st round. Yeah they lost some players since then but this team is only a year removed from winning the Super Bowl and they still have the QB that took them there playing at a high level so they would be a tough out. Much tougher than Seattle(despite our personal struggles with) or one of the NFC South or North teams. imo
  20. Yep, 2 were "arm punts" where they just chucked them cause they had a long down and distance, it's a play where you hope your WR or refs bail you out, if they don't and it gets picked oh well you were going to punt the next play anyway. Another was on 4th down where the Lions actually got worse field position by intercepting it. Basically those 3 interceptions could have been 3 incompletions and the Lions would be no worse off, if anything they may have been better off depending on how the ensuing punt played out. Again another reason why you can't just treat all turnovers as the same.
  21. The Ravens defense is swarming, feels like they are playing with 12 or 13 guys.
  22. I will say we know first hand how good this Ravens team is when they are playing at their best so I do think it's fair to say that our chances wouldnt be good IF the Ravens play near their best but that's no guarantee, I just don't agree with the sentiment that the Lions would be murdered by either of them. I think the Lions are good enough to beat any team, they just have to play near perfect football to beat the likes of these two but it's not unrealistic. I feel like some people(maybe I was wrong to lummp you into this buddha) just are still so traumatized by past Lions teams that they just can't accept or admit that this is a good football team. Not perfect but certainly good enough to beat any other playoff team. imo
  23. To be fair you'd probably think the Giants or Patriots would murder the Lions. Outside of Ben Johnson don't think you had a positive thing to say about the team all season.
  24. I know kicking is extremely hard but it still amazes me that there isn't some unsigned guy out there whether it be an ex NFLer or recent ex college kicker that isn't better than Patterson or Badgely. In Patterson's case he can't kick it past 40 yards, in Badgely's case he can't kick it period.
  25. I put stock into them but I just don't like to treat them as the be all end all. For instance if a guy has a high grade chances are he did play a good game, like wise if he has a bad grade. What I don't do is say one player is better than another based off of their PFF number.
