  1. The thing with Suh is that they mismanaged his contract and the cap to the point where they couldn't franchise him. It's wild a layer of Suh's caliber even became an unrestricted free agent.
  2. You have to sign your franchise players. That would be Sewell and St Brown. That will likely also be Goff. Then you will have Hutchinson and after him Laporta and possibly Branch and Campbell. You have the 5th year option on Gibbs and can decide if you want to extend a RB. I don't think Jameson Williams has earned a 2nd contract yet. You do have the 5th year option on him as well. The trickier part comes with the players who are good but may not be franchise players. McNeil only has one year left. Even guy like Barnes and Melifonwu who have taken a big step in year 3 will be going into their final seasons. You have veterans you'll have to decide on like Glasgow and Jackson. I don't see Decker getting another contract. Ragnow is likely not going to get another contract. The Lions seem to be operating a lot like the Steelers or Ravens and I believe Holmes even mentioned them before. Neither of those teams spend a lot in free agency, they draft well year after year and keep their franchise players and let some of their good but not franchise players walk like Cam Sutton.
  3. Another underrated part of this Lions front office has been the handling of the salary cap. They have quickly turned this team into a contender and are in fantastic shape cap wise.
  4. Man, the Chargers looked like they had it set up to score on that final play.
  5. This Lions team is patient and good at developing talent. We're seeing Barnes and Melifonwu start to come into their own in year three. I wouldn't be surprised if Sorsdal is the starter in year 3.
  6. When have the Pistons last lead in the 4th?
  7. I'd wait until after they set the record to fire Weaver so that way it is on his record.
  8. And just like that, Brooklyn gets their lead back.
  9. Down double digits after the 1st quarter. These games are over before they begin.
  10. For the most part, we are seeing these backup QB sensation crater back to earth. Latest one is Jake Browning. Thankfully it came after the Vikings game.
  11. Mason Rudolph and the Steelers carving up the Bengals defense makes me feel better about Mullens having a solid game against them.
  12. This team needs to be completely torn down and rebuilt. I'm not even sure how you can salvage this and they don't even have any assets to start another rebuild.
  13. For as much as the Vikings blitz, they don't get a lot of pressure. The Lions average more QB pressures than the Vikings. The Vikings seem to excel at confusing QBs. Despite the narrative, Goff is very good against the blitz. He is not good when he gets pressured. Denver blitzed on 60% of dropbacks and Goff picked them apart.
  14. Lions will have to start handing out extensions this year, but they are in good shape cap wise.
  15. Don't worry, it will go away the first time the Lions run for no gain.
  16. That first win against Minnesota was when I knew they had something in Dan Campbell despite being 0-10. Look at Goff's reaction. I don't think I have ever seen a QB run straight to the head coach vs teammates on a walk off win like that.
  17. Good thing they have the 2nd highest paid coach in the league.
  18. I'm concerned the Pistons may win this thing.
  19. I'm impressed, they were talking about the Dodgers and no mention about Stafford and Kershaw being friends.
  20. I think Eberflus did enough to keep his job. The McCaskey's are like Willie Clay Ford. Let's just hope they don't have a competent daughter.
  21. Johnson is from the Carolina area and went to school there. The ownership there though is horrible. He'll be given a bad roster and an impatient owner. Not sure who would want that job.
