Detroit has been cold since before the AS break except for a couple weeks. I can't see much of a turnaround until next season. I hope I am wrong.
-
At the beginning of the season most people were happy with the Tigers pitching staff. They were in good shape with plenty of quality reserves in Toledo. Now half of them are on IL and other half can't find the strike zone. This is why you can't have enough good pitchers.

Disney also fired Gina Carano from the Mandelorian for her conservative comments. I think she won a lawsuit against them. Was that wrong? Kimmel comments were over the top and in very bad taste. He should be punished by his employer for being stupid and making them look bad.
-
They should be picking up good MLB players but with Harris' track record all they will get is over the hill, washed up, waiver wire players.
-
Were you guys in the same uproar when Rosanne Barr was removed from her TV show for her views? How about when Donald Trump when he was removed from Social Media over his views? Kimmel has been wronged because you agree with what he said?

A lot of the frustration is how well the Tigers were doing this year and then having Harris do very little if nothing to improve the team at the deadline. Maybe he was following orders from Chris? Hinch on the other hand is in control of the team on the field and I think he has made very poor decisions at times. I was at the game yesterday and when he rolled Vest out in the top of the ninth everyone around me groaning. You just knew what was going to happen and it did. Injuries played a big part but other controllable decisions factored in to the teams performance. I don't think anyone will be fired but someone should be. As for Skubal, I would hate to see him go but if they have no intention of resigning him or even offering him a competitive offer then he should be on the block this off season and see what they can get for him.

This is painful. At least it highlights the great work of Harris at the trade deadline.

This thread is interesting because I remember the days when I brought up Biden's mental impairments - which were proven to be true by the way. All I heard from the far lefties on this forum is I have no right to question Biden's mental state or lack of one because I wasn't a doctor. So am I supposed to believe you all have medical degrees and are now doctors? The comedy of MTF political section is priceless.

Probable starter for Saturday is Joey Wentz for the Braves. I think that gives the Tigers a chance. Of course with Kieder starting for Detroit it could be a 12 to 11 game. Just hope the Tigers have the 12 runs.

I think someone needs to go if they don't make the playoffs. Leading candidate would be Harris but maybe Hinch or Hinch and Harris. I think Hinch manages the team like its a little league team. It was just stupid to do nothing at the trade deadline when they were already struggling at the time. Everyone knew the pitching rotation and the pen were in big trouble and what little they did do made the team worse.
-
That's laughable. Have you ever noticed the personal attacks that are ignored when someone posts something that doesn't agree with your left wing agenda here? Many times after I post something the moderator says I'm trolling again because I don't agree with you.
-
She considers everyone a troll that doesn't agree with their far left lunacy.
-
I think if the Tigers lose the division they stand a good chance of missing the playoffs entirely. Currently Cleveland is 2.5 out of a WC spot.

Kirk was all about dialog mostly with people who have different views. Many on the left would rather silence there opposition than have a rational and polite conversation. It's a big part ofwhat's wrong with politics today.

In this game I think we got what we expected from Detroit's AAA pitchers on the team. Hoping the pitchers from the IL are ready soon. Seward, Urquidy, Finnegan, Lange and Olson would be a big improvement over some of the current pitchers.
-
Don't sell yourself short Barney. You are one of the front runners here.
-
It's the same guy that uses AAA pitchers from the back end of pen in a close game. This is another loss on the manager's decisions.
-
Barney you must have a short memory. You are the one supporting a pedo when you voted for Biden. There's a lot of video available showing him feeling up and sniffing children.
-
Unfortunately the pen isn't performing like they did last year. Still time to turn it around but I think the post season goes about like it did last year. They will make it a round or two unless some of the pitchers on the IL get back and surprise us.
-
If there ever was a statement that defined this political section this is it. It doesn't matter how true something is as long as it says what you want. No wonder you can't have a legitimate conversation or debate in this group!

Flaherty can be good for four or maybe five innings. Hinch wants to push him for more and that's when it all goes bad. Morton gets a good game in sometimes but can't be counted on as a regular threat. Paddack is kind of like Morton but his good games are much farther apart. Mize started out the year pretty good but is now a great BP pitcher. With a staff like this a team isn't going far in post season.
-
I have more faith in Jake Rogers on the mound than Sommers.
-
Finnigan and especially Morton have been a nice surprise. I didn't expect anything from Morton. I will stand by my comment that you can't build a WS contender and championship team from waivers and those are the players Harris likes to pick up. Tigers are back to winning but I don't have a lot of faith in the pitching staff to get them deep in the playoffs. I hope they prove me wrong.

Correct. He graduated HS in Lansing area in 85 and was signed to play for Michigan State. That changed after he was drafted. When he reported to the Tiger organization something worked out for him where he spent quite a bit of time with the Tigers. As much as he wanted to play for the Tigers the best thing that happened to him was that he was traded to Atlanta. His MLB debut was against the Mets in July 1988 when he pitched a couple innings. He recorded his first strikeout against Darrell Strawberry.

Hinch might have been the only person watching the game that though Jack was able to get out of the inning. With Flaherty's track record this year I would have had someone warming up to start the fifth and yanked Jack after two hits. We all knew there were more coming and where the game was going. Sure Hinch needs to get innings but he needs wins more. Pull Flaherty early and hope for more innings from the starter in the next game. It probably all would have fallen apart anyway with the bad bullpen they have but it would have been a better move.
