Everyone has their crazy supporters but to think people who voted for Trump are bad people is just stupid. A few people voted for Trump because they were loyal to him. However, them and the rest voted for him because they know what an unmitigated disaster the democrats are and a Biden admin would be. A lot of the Trump voters don't like him but they wouldn't allow that to cloud their good judgement and vote for a guy that would destroy the country. Unfortunately they have been proven right. Biden has been the worst POTUS we've had. Far worse than Carter and Obama combined. His policies have made the US a very unsafe place. He was handed a secure southern border and blew it up within hours of taking office. He was supposed to be the Covid savior and we are as bad or worse now than we've ever been. Sorry Barney Fife but more people have died from Covid under Biden than Trump. Our economy is a disaster and inflation is worse than we've seen in years. This is just the tip of the iceburg. The rest of the world laughs at us because we've got a POTUS that clearly has dementia. You and your pals can makeup stories and twist things however you want to fit the liberal agenda. We've lived with the Russian hoax, two partisan impeachment hearings and now the very partisan jan 6 commission. We've also seen Republicans removed from committees because they hurt the delicate liberal feelings while Nutty Nancy and company ignore racist, anti seminite and terrorist supporting reps on their side of the aisle. This shows not only how low the democrats are willing to go to gain power but the entire state of politics in the US. It's disgusting. If it was an insurrection like you and others here claim why hasn't anyone been charged with it? They are being extra tough on these people so if there was an actual insurrection they would be charged with it. But if it makes you feel better to make up things then go ahead.

I read back through this topic and realized this is your political soapbox to yammer on about guns. A couple weeks ago a guy drove through a Christmas parade severly injuring dozens and killing six people. There's not a peep from you about this guy, the tool he used for killing, or the fact he was out on rediculously low bail from a liberal prosecutor. Based on how a you blame a gun I assume you blame the SUV for this heinous crime and killing. Do you people own killing machines called automobiles or do you ride bicycles?

All new firearms today are sold with trigger locks. I don't know how many people use or keep them but I think its a fairly low number. I dont use them. There are ways to safely store a gun and have it quickly and easily accessible. I also beleive if you have firearms in the home, your spouse and children should know the basics about how to use them and store them safely. If you forbid children from seeing or doing something I beleive that makes them more curious. I wanted my children to know about firearms and wanted them taught properly. Parents also need to spend time with their children to see any red flags of their behavior. This is important even if you don't have guns in the home. The oxford shooter had more red flags than a Chinese military parade and the parents should have recognized this and realized arming the boy was a recipe for disaster. My previous comment about banning or surrendering guns was purely hypothetical. There are so may firearms in this country it would never happen. Even if you couldn't buy a gun they can be made fairly easy.

I agree that gun owners need to be responsible people (so do owners of many other things too) but how do you decide that? I'm not sure the Crumbley parents are really criminally guilty of anything but they are very irresponsible people. The ATF form specifically asks questions who the gun is for, drug use and domestic violence. Unless something bad happens like it did, some of its hard to know about without charges brought. Speaking of the ATF form, that might be the best chance they have for prosecuting the parent who purchased the gun. I don't know how they answered the questions but if they lied it can be a big fine and several years in jail.

A few people here have mentioned a ban on firearms or a mandatory surrender of firearms. Let say that's a reality and on Jan 1, 2022 any and all firearms owned have to be surrendered to your local police. The law abiding citizen will turn in their guns. The gang bangers, criminals and the like would not. So how would this make us safer? I think it would make us easier prey for the bad guns who are now the only ones with guns.

I read an article that said 40% of guns recovered in Chicago came from outside Chicago but from Illinois while 21% came from Indiana mainly because of its proximity to Chicago. The remaining 39% came from many other states all the way down to Florida and Mississippi.

Anybody that can take a life without a thought is someone that doesn't value life. I think a lot of the problems today is because of the digital age and the World Wide Web. We've always had guns and violent crimes but it increased a lot in the last two or three decades. When I was a kid we play cops and robbers, cowboys and indians and army with our cap guns. None that caused any mental problems. We also played outside from sun up to sun down and later. Today kids don't interact face to face or hardly play outside. They have their faces buried in their phones nonstop and always playing video games that are very realistic. Its probably not 100% of the problem but has contributed a lot to the decline of society and humanity in general.

It just pushes more people away. I remember the neighborhood people would have season tickets for box seats at Tiger Stadium. When Comerica opened they couldn’t afford it anymore.

Part of it is people just don't value life. Killing is regular occurance in Chicago as you pointed out. I'm not familiar with the exact laws in Chicago but I know they have some of the toughest around. The criminals don't follow laws anyway.

If you pay to go to games your costs are likely to go up because of these negotiations. Fans are the biggest losers because any increased costs will be passed on to us.

What is missing here is the knowledge of the real problem. No matter what Alec Baldwin says a firearm won't shoot by itself. A person has to pull the trigger to make it fire. Do you really think that if someone want to kill they won't find a way to do it. McVeigh killed a lot of people including children without a shot being fired. Liberal policies are making the US more dangerous everyday and a lot of refuse to be victims because of them. Why do you think more people buy and carry guns? You don't see most of the guns people carry because they are concealed. Blaming guns is the easy way out and doesn't fix the real problem. And yes, I stand behind my statement that most people here know nothing about firearms. Besides calling parts by a wrong name there have been countless posts citing "automatic" weapon or the best was an automatic pistol. This shows complete lack of knowledge. I don't care that they don't know what they're talking about but it really makes them look foolish in their argument.

Exactly! Any firearms person makes light of someone using the word "clip" to describe a magazine. Using the word clip is a indication they don't know much about firearms.
