  1. That was the problem with Powell is that he wasn't a Conservative at all. Fortunately for everyone, he finally admitted he was democrat.
  2. The most annoying thing for me in Cleveland is that computerized dinging noise the have when they score a run. It might be because we heard it way too much? I'll take the druming over that noise.
  3. Not at all. Its how they act. There were people in black face in California. With all of them its whats being said that wouldn't be acceptable.
  4. Time flies when you get old. I remember him as the General and it seems like yesterday.
  5. The chop is cool when the whole packed stadium is doing it. I've followed the Braves when Smoltz was playing and all the games were on TBS. I'm not a Dodger fans so I'm pulling for the Braves. That alone should be the curse to make them lose the series.
  6. A lot democrats are very much against racism and bigotry until black person runs as a Republican. Then a lot of them forget about those values. Recently we've seen it with Larry Elder in CA, now with Walker and in the Michigan Gubernatorial race with Chief Craig.
  7. Powell was 84. The elderly are the ones that have the most trouble with covid. I didn't know Powell was that old.
  8. In our area mask usage is very rare. I would say 5 to 10% or less in the stores I have been too recently. We are required to wear them at work and most are chin guards.
  9. I keep trying to get my head around the idea of raising $9 million dollars to get a job that pays under $200k a year. The smart move would be to pocket the $9 million and go live happy somewhere without politics.
  10. Social distancing is great. So is the mask in a way. I can tell people to F off and they don't always know its me.
  11. I don't know what kind of pitcher we would get for either of them. They might bring a small return but not someone that would be a dependable established pitcher.
  12. If they spent enough money I'm sure they could sign Correa. We've heard the Yankees are very interested too so its going to cost them a lot. If you were a player and wanted to contend for WS every year where would you rather play?
  13. I feel a flat tax on all income with zero deductions would be the way to go. Then everyone feels the same pinch.
  14. Everything I have is through Fidelity and I manage it myself. My brother goes through an independent broker. He makes about the same as I do each year but he pays a lot of fees. I recommended Fidelity because there is a lot of info and research available but the others are good too. I just started with Fidelity, not knowing anything and learned the ropes. There are a tons a mutual funds and many are a like. I started with $100 in an Equity Fund. I've invested a lot since then but also had some really good years of returns. I plan on retiring in about year.
  15. I've been investing since I was 18 but have only been in mutual funds. Over the many years we have done well. Some people are really good with individual stocks but I like the idea of many stocks in one basket with a mutual fund. I would like a lot more days like yesterday.
  16. A trade is a good possibility but who would the Tigers put on the block? Most of the players anyone would want are the ones that Tigers can't afford to lose. I don't think there would be a big return for Goodrum or either Castro. I think one of their best bargaining chips would be Grossman. Currently they are looking pretty good with OF so he might bring the best return. I would hate to see them give up Kreidler or another prospect that has been performing well.
  17. One of the big differences I see is the democrats want to tax the corporations more to pay their "fair share." In today's global economy the corporations hold all the cards. They will shop around to find their best deal to build their factories. If a city, state or country want to raise their taxes they pull up stakes and move to another city, state or country and the jobs go away. I wish we could tax the corporations to pay their fair share but everyone needs the jobs and what tax money they can get. This was different years ago when it wasn't so easy to move a factory over seas and ship goods back to the US.
  18. Like I said I just hate to see a game end like that. Even replays aren't perfect as we've seen calls go one way or another against what we see on the replay. Nothing we can do about it. I'm not a Dodger fan so it doesn't help.
  19. Sorry my error. I haven't been paying much attention to it.
  20. Then how are they trying to rig the system?
  21. First, I thank you for at least attempting to answer my question. However, it doesn't really answer the national issue. I don't remember a woman on the Republican gubernatorial ballot for Michigan but I'm getting old . I'm not a fan of Whitmer but the Republicans didn't have the best candidate either.
  22. How are they working to rig the system? If I recall its the democrats that want everyone to vote without proving who they are and are ok with mail in ballots with no controls. If that isn't rigging the system I don't know what is. The elections need to be safe and fair and with plenty of controls in place so the results won't be questioned.
  23. Replays show it wasn't a swing and not past the plate. It wasn't even close in my opinion. I would be ok if they used replay for game ending calls like that.
  24. You may have seen in my previous comments I don't support Trump and certainly don't want him to run another for another term. I agree his popularity with a good many people presents a problem. Hopefully someone with half a brain in the party will convince the party to support a good candidate and Trump will back them hopefully bringing his supporters. The country can't take anymore of the disaster we are seeing now.
