He’s pitched 350 minor league innings. He’s got a ton of experience. Nervous or not, he was facing a dream lineup for a guy making his debut. This Pirates order looks even worse than the Tigers. Still couldn’t take advantage and made a few very bad mistakes

Initial thoughts on Montero. Very normal repertoire without exceptional stuff and leaves the ball out over the plate too much. Doesn’t appear to have a single plus pitch. Maybe he can help Toledo win a few games but doesn’t look like a prospect to me.

There’s no doubt that the top negro league players would’ve not only played in MLB but also have been stars. I wonder about the depth of talent and the overall competition level especially with the pitchers. My real issue is comparing numbers from a 50 game season to a 154 game season and treating them as the same. I think that’s a hard thing to go good good on. There are so many factors that differ when you have this big of a disparity over length of season.

In addition to a much different competition level, Negro league seasons were only 50 games. This is an absolute travesty if they are going to treat these single season numbers for both leagues as the exact same. 50 game season vs. 162. That’s a huge difference that just can’t be ignored.

I don’t understand why Negro league stats would impact MLB records. It was a completely different league. Why are they doing this?

I like Nico and three years from now this could very well end up being a complete steal of a contact but that’s an awful lot of money to commit to a player with one season of solid work.

Maybe I’m missing something but I’m only really seeing one person calling for AJ to be fired.

If any teams have their eyes set on adding Lebron Sr. to their roster this off season then they sure as hell better be thinking about drafting Bronny.
