  1. Talk **** on’em all, Joe. You’ll never see a bigger trash home run celebration.
  2. As always, this race is so boring without any rain.
  3. This was never a this side is right and that side is wrong. As counter to your Jim Leyland example, Dusty Baker showed us in 2022 that defining roles and putting guys in their expected situation is also the way to go. They rolled to the title with a lethal combo of Neris, Abreu, Montero, Presley. Kept this same rotation when ahead and rolled past the Mariners, Yankees, and Phils.
  4. I am also of the opinion that Hinch overthinks too much with most aspects of the job. That’s just my personal bias towards him though.
  5. FWIW, Holton’s splits against RH are excellent. I don’t see any reason why he shouldn’t normally settle into the 8th inning setup role going forward.
  6. Hinch has tried similar logic and it’s failed and cost us games at least twice this season. There’s no real right or wrong way. I am of the opinion that using the closer in closer situations will come out better more times than trying to play the matchups and putting reliever into a situation that he’s not normally accustomed to pitching in.
  7. I’m not a fan of closer by committee when you have a decent closer. I think Foley has earned that right based on how he’s pitched this year:
  8. Glad that worked out! AJ’s Stanford guy bullpen moves were due to work out to a positive outcome.
  9. I hate this idea. Let the closer close
  10. A little bit of perspective.
  11. He’s the Scottie to Ant’s Jordan.
  12. Ant can’t keep passing the ball with the game on the line. He’s got to step up and take the shot.
  13. Not the least bit surprising but wow!
  14. I get what you are saying but don’t fear. Nobody in this day and age would be stupid enough to claim that title without an NFL championship. You’ve got to have that in the mix.
  15. No reason to think that Gores even made a decision. This move has Arn’s fingerprints all over it.
  16. The only common sense that prevails with MLB umps is that anything they say goes and nobody better ever question it.
  17. We absolutely want that as long as one of those teams is not the Cowboys. It would look so bad on them. Can’t call yourself America’s team anymore if you’re the least successful team in your own city.
  18. He absolutely elevated the team in 2022. He took a team with suspect defense and almost single handedly had them in the playoff before he badly injured his hamstring on an amazing 60 yard TD run in the Pac championship game. Last year was a **** show because the terrible defense some how got even worse and the portal built OL never gelled together. He never had a chance and actually did remarkably well under the conditions. I can’t imagine any other QB could’ve done better with what he was dealt.
  19. He coached last season like a guy that didn’t really want the job but couldn’t say no after being offered a stupidly large contract by an owner that wouldn’t say no.
  20. I’ve been meaning to start the 2024 NCAA thread for about a week but I’m a tremendous slacker.
  21. So much for boring playoff overtime’s where both teams are timid and afraid to make a mistake.
  22. What has Trajan Langdon done to warrant this job? His draft history looks horrendous and possibly worse than Weaver. Don’t know about any trades or FA signings so hopefully you guys can enlighten me but I’m not real impressed at first glance. This is yet another guy that has been brought in that was either an ex Arn client, his son’s current client, or someone represented by his son’s firm. This **** has to stop.
  23. I think what’s exciting is we are now one of those top echelon teams that a vet of his stature would want to come play here. We wouldn’t have to try to overpay for his services either. He’d come for market or maybe even a little less.
