Race 1 is here. Excited to see how Ferrari blows this one. I think it’s Max, Checco, Lewis. Charles has some type of bad luck car or tire issue and Carlos gets screwed by a poor race strategy and finishes 4th.

I also like the tire rule. Will make it interesting as they head out on the grid to see the decisions that made. More opportunities for counter strategies.

Good to have you back, Del! I was telling a buddy how great it will be for F1 to have Binotto back making key decisions to impact the championship. Drama will definitely surround. Pretty crazy that Bottas outqualified Russell in an Alfa. Toto definitely didn’t see that coming. I do think Merc will get it figured out. I too love the look of the new cars. That Williams really stands out.

He was seldom mentioned in mocks prior the combine. Now he’s #2 overalll after putting up insane numbers.

I have to give the Browns credit for making a big move for an elite QB when they had a decent one. It’s a ballsy move that the Lions franchise never would’ve or will ever do. Then again there’s a very fine line between balls and stupidity. May end up to be dumb as hell.

One would assume they will get at least 1 first rounder back for Baker. If they can get Washington and Indy into a bidding near they may even get 2.

The Russian military is dead. They are just a charade of what they used to be. They have been completely gutted by corrupt officials. Seems like all the money for maintenance has been diverted away and into personal Swiss bank accounts. I don’t want to play chicken and find out but I doubt their nukes are even operational anymore. Some crooked general probably sold their plutonium on the black market.

I am not sure I agree with all of his assumptions but there’s some reason in there. As I think about it more, it seems more likely that it’s not about overvaluing the current talent on the roster as I said yesterday but more about sticking with the plan. This was never a 2 year rebuild. It was always part of the plan to still struggle a bit in year 2. They aren’t tanking by any means but there’s no real rush to dramatically improve the roster this season. Getting to 7-8 wins and at least being around the playoff hunt later in the season would be a great result for year 2. I think they want to give a longer look to some players on the roster that they probably would’ve moved on from if they were a year further along in the rebuild. Will be interesting to see what they do over the next few days.
