Ohio State has higher expectations than Michigan. Football is all they have. It is essentially the purpose of the University. There are no academic or research merits that matter to anyone. They want to win championships. They have won zero and only played for one in six seasons. The overall record is deceiving as well seeing how weak the teams from 5 through 14 have been in the conference up until this season.

Urban is the perfect fit them. The question is that now they have to pay players $25M a year, do they really want to pay a $37M buyout and the cost for a new coach.

Trump is not in anyone’s pocket anymore. He can literally get away with anything at this point. Russia could put out the clearest evidence possible that they’ve compromised Trump and have been doing it for years and it won’t matter. He will deny everything and maga will believe it and his cronies in government will support him.

The staff figured it out at the end of the season but the defense should’ve been much better than it was for most of the year. What we saw yesterday should have been close to the norm especially when Will Johnson was healthy. I wonder if they run it back with Wink especially with the massive rebuild that needs to take place on that side of the ball. They will hit the portal hard but that’s still building almost an entirely new defense. Crazy to think about how much defensive talent they will have cycled through over the past two seasons.

The deck will reshuffle yearly now in our new NIL/Portal world especially without a real governing body and any spending guardrails in place. I doubt that those 3 will fade for very long and won’t be surprised to see all of them back in the thick of it next year.

The Dodgers have found a unique workaround. They are deferring over $1B of salary money for decades down the road. This ownership group will sell long before that bill comes due and will let someone else deal with it. The tax is a small portion for the current owners to pay to ensure they have a great team while they own them.

This playoff is going to wild. No great teams along with the silly high seeding of lesser conference champs means everyone will have a legit shot to take home the crystal.

I love this coaching staff is always on another level and pulling out all the stops for Green Bay. The Jah Gibbs photo was absolutely staged and everything on that wall means nothing. 15 years ago, Chip Kelly was an offensive genius when he brought the tempo offense to college football. Turns out he’s a one hit wonder. Everyone copied his offense and it became so common that defenses figured it out. He’s got nothing else in his bag. It’s no different than his time at UCLA. Better athletes, same terrible play calls.

Very interesting model detaching football from the rest of the athletic department and essentially giving it their own AD. There are many programs that would benefit from this structure.
