  1. Definitely will be a cold one tonight for the 100 who show up.
  2. Good list. Serretti is interesting—moved up two levels last year and off to a nice start. 6th rounder. Both he and Graham were college guys taken in the same draft, though Graham was a 2nd rounder. Graham was a preseason top-10/15 prospect, while Serretti was much lower. Is Serretti the better prospect now? Graham wasn’t very impressive last season and is off to a bad start at low A.
  3. The use of “women throwing haymakers” made me laugh audibly
  4. Agree—neither team will be in playoff contention, so I suspect it won’t get rescheduled if they can’t get it in today.
  5. The extremes that other teams will go to avoid facing the post-Baez incident Tigers.
  6. As long as the Ilitch’s own it, it will have a corporate naming sponsor. It would become Little Caesar’s Park, before they go back to Tiger Stadium.
  7. We have one player in today’s lineup with a batting average over .232 (Baddoo—.250). Here are the team leaders
  8. It may be, though. Our collective moods are like a roller coaster here—we lose 3 games in a row and it’s end days, and win a couple (again a similarly bad team), and it’s wine and roses. We really don’t know what we have in a relatively small sample. The offense is still bad. The pen has been unreliable and our starting pitching inconsistent. The offense will improve, but I think the other two areas are still questionable. we just need to maintain some patience and perspective.
  9. Nice to see Austin still with club (far left)
  10. AJ Hinch (and Mrs Hinch) sighting
  11. This. Remember that the Scott Harris-led Giants are probably as bad as his new team. Our bullpen is going to get crushed by the good teams. Though our hitting will improve.
  12. You’re a tough customer—hes only played in 7 games so far. Again, not anywhere near Neto, but not a complete disaster either.
  13. When your strategy is to tank in order to be in position to draft high, this is incredibly dismal. Sure, some bad luck and still a few guys you can be hopeful about, but a long stretch without any consistent contributors.
  14. That’s not true of Jung—he’s hitting and getting on base so far. Still a bummer to see Neto advance so quickly, especially as the more competent fielder.
  15. No problem with Kreidler straightening himself out in Toledo, but hope there is still a short leash on Schoop. And McKinstry.
  16. Apparently he sought out hitting help in the offseason, like Carpenter, and made some adjustments. He was 5 for 12 in ST, when called up to play in games with the ML squad. He’s got speed and power and plays D. Kind of like an infielder version of Parker Meadows.
  17. Diaz has 9 K’d in 5.2 IP, with a 0.88 WHIP, as well.
  18. I guess if you put the blame on Avila for this season, Harris should bear it for whatever the Giants do in 2023.
  19. yeah, I feel better about Tork right now, though it's all relative.
  20. I'm not so sure--I think Diaz, Castro and Del Pozo would all be upgrades. Maybe Wisler or Rosenthal if they can get into a groove down there.
  21. Looking forward to the Cody Stavenhagen feature in the Athletic in August, when he waxes poetic about how the Baez incident was the turning point for the team and their climb into playoff contention.
  22. nice to see Cisnero get the win for his effort tonight.
