  1. Not really a hot take. More like a dumbass one. He was successful in getting reactions, though. Hard to know what Vierling will turn into, but the metrics suggest he has more upside. I’m excited to see what he can do this season—still only has 400 AB’s under his belt and just turned 26.
  2. If the Cowboys crap the bed, that will probably be another team changing coaches, making it more possible that Ben Johnson gets a gig somewhere.
  3. I’d throw out last year—he was coming off an injury/long rehab cycle. he’ll either pitch well and help us win games or suck, and you’ll have been right—you can’t lose.
  4. Yeah, not putting this on Harris. Just stating the obvious that this is an area I hope he can improve upon.
  5. Harris has to address this. We have one of the biggest International budgets and we’re projected to sign three players ranked in the 30’s. Criminal. Given our track record, I’d rather roll the dice and spend it all on one or two high impact guys. https://www.blessyouboys.com/2023/1/15/23555908/detroit-tigers-international-signing-cristian-santana-enrigue-jimenez-cristian-perez-anibal-salas
  6. They have been aggressive in free agency, plugging holes with “damaged goods” players who they are hoping for a rebound—Bellinger, Hosmer and Mancini.
  7. He seems like such a free spirit, I can see him pursuing another 2-year with an opt-out.
  8. Exactly. Without anything reported, the assumption is that Harris is doing nothing. He’s close to the vest and the Tigers will likely be absent from MLB Trade Rumors coverage, so I suspect he will not be given the benefit of the doubt until the team starts winning. I would expect the casual fan to be suspect, but surprised how much negativity he’s already come under here.
  9. Twins fans probably didn’t think Correa was coming back, either. “So, you’re saying there’s a chance?”
  10. This assumes he wanted to come back. Which I doubt, but I suppose it is still possible until he signs elsewhere.
  11. Don’t disagree, but it’s a lot easier to get rid of shitty guys than it is to find 3-4 upgrades.
  12. If Cisnero was a free agent from another team, he’s the kind of pitcher I would expect to see Harris take a risk on. Where was the outrage when we signed Shreve Chasen to a $1.25M contract?
  13. Did that include losing Chafin, Jimenez and Soto, too?
  14. Can we all agree that we want to see the Seahawks get knocked out today? #theydontbelong
  15. I think we're overthinking it. He's a proven major league pitcher who has had previous success. Not great, but we need innings, especially after losing four members from last year's pen. He's not blocking anyone--If he doesn't pitch well, cut him. I have the exact same attitude toward Schoop.
  16. yes. praying for another transaction soon to divert our focus.
  17. Does Jose Cisnero warrant this much attention? Both the spelling of his last name and his inexpensive contract are pretty insignificant.
  18. In MLB, the owners instituted the lottery to pacify the players union, who felt teams were going on the cheap to save payroll and tank.
  19. MLB started a lottery this year. The Tigers benefited and moved up 3 spots.
  20. Are Mize and Skubal alive in 2029? Asking for a friend.
  21. That’s complete bullshit—I’ve been told here that the offseason has already ended.
  22. I think only two years into his professional coaching career is asking a bit much in terms of building an assistant coach factory. I’d prefer to have another year or two with some stability and let his coaching tree take root. The fact that BC and AJ are getting interviews is validation that he is on the right path.
  23. At the risk of messing with anyone’s ability to get to sleep because of the excitement and anticipation, I will be posting my proposed 2028 starting lineup tomorrow. Stay tuned…
