    Definitely a red flag. I think he’d need two solid starts before the trade deadline to give teams the confidence to acquire him, and that might not be enough.

    I think the best path with Flaherty is to try and trade him for player(s) that can help soon. If not, offer him a qualifying offer and attempt to sign him to a fair extension or take the compensatory pick. We have more options/leverage than we did with the guy in AZ who has yet to throw a pitch this season.

    Regardless of what Langford does, I’m on board with the Clark pick (I was not at the time). He’s a better fit in Comerica and should be more well-rounded. Looks like a legit leadoff guy, which we’ve lacked for a long time.

    No one knows who Skubal is. Probably the most unheralded, low key superstar in Detroit sports. If the franchise could withstand trading Verlander, who everyone knew and loved, they’ll get over trading Skubal. Might take 48 hours, but it will happen.

    I like Kurtz—almost 1.5 walks to strikeouts and is LH bat. Unless they are named Pujols or Miggy, I want my 1B to be left-handed. It’s just American.
