  1. I wonder if they never played him at third base that we might have a totally different player ? Does playing out of position affect your hitting ? I really don't know but I suspect it might. I don't subscribe to this versatility emphasis of Hinch apart from having one utility guy. He played Parades at 3b and 2b and the Rays only at 3B ( some 1B). Did that help him relax and hit. I don't know but something unlocked him there. I think we are ruining Verling now and did damage to Maton. But I am just a fan so what do I know. It just seems when you know your job and can do it it's easier to perform. I don't call an electrician to fix a leaky pipe.
  2. Jung's hitting has been impressive but he sure looks like a catcher to me. Not saying move him to catcher just his build. I assume his arm is not good enough for third ?
  3. Yes I know but the point being managers follows their bosses wish.
  4. Just put Cisneros in and leave him there until the game is over. He can bury his arm on the mound after the game and ride into the sunset. Goodbye.
  5. Nobody on the telecast know which foot was broken before ? No mention?
  6. My impression is they are on the same page but Harris is clearly setting the agenda. In fact I interpreted Hinch playing Maton so long because Harris told him too not the other way around. Same thing with Avila when Hinch played Lugo so much. GM's want the players they traded for on the field sometimes to a fault. maybe often to a fault.
  7. And by keeping him in AAA we extend his free agency to 2025 making him much more attractive in trade.
  8. That's going to hurt his wallet this off season and speaks to his inconsistency.
  9. I don't think Harris had any one player in mind when he non tendered Candy but rather was willing to have the position open to "audition" multiple players from the minor leagues, wire pick ups and possible trades which is what happened but none of them stuck unfortunately.
  10. Do you want to sign him this off season ? I think Harris had already considered that and said no which factored into his decision. The fail isn't cutting Candy it's not finding a replacement unless he was banking on Colt Keith or Mallory all along.
  11. This is probably reason number 1 of many.
  12. I think this an accurate and fair assessment. If someone is hired for a job they are not capable of performing is it their fault when they fail ?
  13. Not even a little bit.
  14. Agree. Similar to a coin flip. Over time the analytics play out but at that one moment go with the guy whose hot !!!
  15. Might as well just have a robot.
  16. B + Happy with mostly everything. Great Draft. Developmental gains. Not rushing players to the show prematurely. Looks under every rock. Taking time to properly evaluate all the inherited personnel. Good trades and free agent signings. The Erod trade was probably a good trade that got spoiled with no fault of his own other than trust which was misplaced so a small error all the same. Didn't fill third base. For the first year I think he has made a good impression but the honeymoon is now over. Big off season ahead.
  17. McStinky is a solid 26th man and utility player and there is value in that. Just not a starter or every day player.
  18. Very nice. Thanks for sharing. Your living large. Any disco 🕺 tonight ?
  19. I am so bloody tired of McKinstry. Does he lead the team in AB’s ? And lead off as well. Hinch must like his sister or something.
  20. Agree. See who sticks. Save $$$ and sign Bregman and Willy Adames in free agency if still needed. Move Baez to second.
  21. No but he’s up there. But he’s a free agent and the “other” guy has four more years of control. Ouch.
