a lot of revisionist history in that doc, but it was good memories. barry seems like a good guy, which is nice to see.

what a great win. beating jersey and boston is a great response to the disappointment in sweden.

Week Twelve: Green Bay Packers (4-6) @ Detroit Lions (8-2)

it will be interesting to see how hendon hooker looks in pre-season next year. goff will be here for at least next year. maybe the year after if they franchise him. im still not sure goff is a long term answer at qb. that's why brad holmes gets paid the big bucks, to figure this stuff out. -

true, but the lions were much healthier than the packers. -

in two games you guys have gone from "super bowl" to "regime change in the coaching staff." lol. the lions remain what they have been all season: a solid team that is a tier below the real contenders. theyre not san francisco or philly. theyre probably not even at dallas' level. but if they can eke out enough wins for a home playoff game, they should be able to beat a new orleans/atlanta/minnesota at home. its hard to win in the nfl when you turn the ball over as much as they have in the last two games. they've played two bad games in a row and are 1-1 in those games. hopefully goff hasnt turned into a pumpkin and they can come back and beat the bears. -

goff looked like **** for 3 1/2 quarters last week and picked it up. hopefully he can pick it up today too. theyre capable of it on offense. its the defense that's the overarching issue. -

having only one stud player on defense will do that. but you know, keep trotting charles harris and levi out there. draft a linebacker at 17. -

just get out of the first half alive and try to score first in the second half. -

just as good as the niners and eagles though. this might be the worst defense in the conference. -

i think ausar is getting nothing but positive press everywhere. if anything, the fact that he cant shoot at all is not being talked about enough. -
caps, lol. that wont last.
-
they were out of it by then. that was one of the best lions defenses but the offense was not so great.
-
shut up popp you pompous ass.
-
really needed that win.

my dad still talks about that 9-7 loss to green bay. still hates milt plum.

i hate valenti but he's right. 12 mins and 47 secs? i could rant like that about the pistons for an hour. -
and just to complete the rant, he traded luke kennard and bruce brown and picks to get bey! if all the injured players come back and it seems to make a difference and theyre decent down the stretch MAYBE he can stay. if it were me i would have fired weaver already. if they still suck when their role players are healthy then he definitely has to go. he is god awful at asset management, which is his second biggest job outside of the talent evaluation in the draft.
-
think of all the assets the pistons have poured into the center position: trading junk for bagley, trading bey for wiseman, trading multiple picks to move up and get duren, trading a future first to get stewart. and for what? duren looks good. everyone else is either a limited role player (stewart), a useless piece of trash (wiseman), or a limited second team offense only player (bagley). none of them are good rebounders except duren and that's mostly because he's an amazing athlete. we all talked about cap space and finally getting blake and andre and svg's mistakes off the books and what has it gotten us? NOTHING! second round picks and garbage role players. that's it. this franchise really makes me angry.

i think that ohtani kid might develop into something...

orlando and okc are a combined 19-9. the pistons are 2-12. #firetroyweaver

fields hasnt played like that all season. the bears finally did what they SHOULD do with fields: let. him. run. if they keep doing that they will score points on other defenses too. they sat him in the pocket for the first 5 or so games of the season and he looked awful. cause he cant do it. what he CAN do is run. and he did it effectively against detroit. this year and last year (in chicago, the game in detroit the bears quit). -
https://sports.yahoo.com/is-college-athletics-headed-for-the-great-split-we-need-to-recreate-or-relaunch-the-ncaa-160523061.html the end is nigh and they know it. they know that the athletes will soon be legally employees and that the next step is unionization and collective bargaining. its the only thing that will keep their salaries intact. the "revenue sharing" will be what breaks them up. why should michigan and ohio state share anything with rutgers and northwestern? they bring nothing to the table. schools like indiana and purdue have basketball, but that's not nearly the moneymaker football is. they'll be lucky if the big boys decide to bring them along (they have to play somebody!). once the players are getting paid you'll see smaller college football end or change substantially. no way central michigan can afford to pay many players. or perhaps the mac teams of the world just form their own payment structure that is on another, much lower tier? maybe we see those types of schools become a feeder league for the power 5 teams like the ncaa is for the nfl right now?
