  1. in fairness to the pistons, they are missing two starters in morris and bogey. one who would theoretically take some of the playmaking load off cade and the other who would provide floor spacing. cant really judge how the team looks until/if those guys come back. that said, with the weakest draft in memory on tap its almost a guarantee the pistons win the lottery. compare them with houston. they have accumulated #1 picks and took green, seguin, thompson, and jabari smith. we accumulated first rounders and took cade, ivey, killian, bey, stewart, and thompson. green and cade are different players with different roles so its hard to compare. seguin is a better player than stewart, imo. our thompson has looked better than there's. smith has been very up and down as has ivey. and we traded bey for the ultimate waste of space. houston spent money on vanvleet and brooks. we traded our cap space/assets to get bogey, bagley, wiseman, morris, deandre jordan, burkes, and joe harris. there's your difference, right? they took their cap space to get a solid point guard starter and an agitating role player and we traded ours for second round picks, big men washouts, and two injured players. not sure which is the best LONG term plan, but in the short term we really look bad compared to them.
  2. cleveland sat donovan mitchell. atlanta sat trae young. teams are resting their best guys against the pistons and still beating them rather easily.
  3. what is the difference between what michigan is accused of doing and what ohio state did? ohio state (and illinois and purdue) was given a list of michigan's signs by greg schiano and rutgers. signs they stole in person at the game. in theory, what is the difference between that and conor stalions taking a video on his phone and using that to steal signs? the only difference i can see is that what schiano did has been going on since time immemorial. bert bielema, in his rant against michigan, stated when he was a grad assistant he cut his teeth stealing signs. that was one of his jobs. other people i know who worked as grad assistants for college football teams (illinois) told me the same thing. and then they passed those signs to other GAs on other teams. thats legal and part of football world. people i know who played major college football told me similar stuff. they had the other team's signs all the time. a lot of times it didnt really help. so i ask what is the actual real difference between that practice and what michigan did? in today's day and age of all-22 videos and everything being on tv? and if there is a real difference, what is the significant competitive advantage that michigan gained by doing it as opposed to just having the signs handed to them by another team? i dont really see one but i dont play football so i dont know if im missing something.
  4. not sure why would give osu that many points considering they had michigan's signs... 🙂
  5. and then they rally to cut it to 8. lol. even emoni bates got in the game.
  6. cant wait for the piston beat writers' articles about how the loss was expected because we didnt have joe harris and bogdan bogdanovich. donovan mitchell? who? how can we be expected to keep the game in single digits without isaiah livers!!!!!
  7. so cleveland sat their best player tonight against detroit, eh? what a surprise.
  8. every year we have "tons of cap space" and every year its frittered away on projects, has beens, and never wuzzes, all to get an occasional second round pick. deandre jordan, joe harris, etc etc. are we building up to something? its year 4, were down a first round pick, and we've already traded away one of our own first round players for garbage. so what's the plan?
  9. 2 games?
  10. listen to the podcast. that's where its from.
  11. the league favoring the leafs? unheard of. next thing you know you'll tell me teams from new york, los angeles, and chicago move up in the lottery!
  12. if lavine comes to detroit he just chucks up 25 shots a game and says "this is my team." my fear is that gores forces a premature trade because the team is so bad. like they did with blake.
  13. as reported by the numerous leaks from his conversations with michigan following his call with ryan walters and the rest of the hypocrites that make up the big ten coaching fraternity.
  14. or the michigan sexual abuse case, the michigan state sexual abuse case, or the ohio state sexual abuse case or domesric violence cover up. pettiti said it was the biggest scandal in big ten history. another thing he has done poorly.
  15. im sure other teams are stealing signs. that's the issue. i dont think what stalions did was anything special or different or more effective. the ncaa pretty mich agreed two years ago.
  16. you cant compare devin achane to travis kelce. come on. if tyreek hill was out, that would be a valid comparison.
  17. a fine to the university. for harbaugh, maybe a one game suspension next year. i just dont see the difference between the effect of what michigan did and what other teams did.
  18. only you would take that post and reference arthur conan doyle. lol. 😀
  19. i agree that it is his job to know. and he'll face punishment for that from the ncaa about it. again, my disagreement is that this is not a major thing considering what actually happens in college football. the punishment does not fit the crime, imo.
  20. on the topic of harbaugh since no one asked me... it would not surprise me if he had no knowledge of this. not because i think harbaugh is a saint - he's a football coach and like every big time football coach is looking to press any advantage he can - but because i dont think organization and attention span are his strengths. in short, i think harbaugh isnt very smart and is distracted by ambulances. if you talk to people in chicago they'll tell you how surprised they were he's been so successful because he was "kinda dumb". i think he's a great football coach. one of the best football coaches in the sport and will be successful wherever he goes, even the nfl. but he's constantly distracted, either by the nfl or by shiny objects (josh gattis' spread and shred, don brown's blitzes), or the inability to follow minor rules (cheeseburgers) he probably doesnt even pay attention to, that throw him off track. its not far fetched for me to believe there are lots of things going on in that football program he knows nothing about. jim harbaugh is not the evil genius osu makes him out to be: he's just a big dumb football coach. a very good, big dumb football coach.
  21. what a shot.
  22. putting the mgoblog stuff aside, putting the motownsports trolls aside, i just dont think the punishment fits the crime. as for the media, if this were bama or ohio state or any of the other big name teams it would be a big deal to the media. as for the ncaa, its a big deal because of harbaugh. as for the big ten, its a big deal because its michigan and pettiti has not handled it well. if this is the sec, this never happens this way. the big ten is destroying itself over what is basically a minor violation. michigan is not helping with its combatitive attitude. and in all honesty, i dont believe the "institution" of michigan and specifically the athletic department is very well run. and you can see that in all the stuff that has happened to it very publicly recently.
  23. ivey, wiseman, and harris for lavine. do you do it?
  24. why is this a big deal to you? because of the public perception?
