this is why i love the nfl draft. today is like xmas eve! cant wait for tomorrow and this weekend. nhl and nba playoffs, tigers havent been officially eliminated yet, nfl draft, best time of the year.
-
you would have said the same thing before the miami-milwaukee series too. but big picture youre right, the nba playoffs are more about chalk than any of the others because of the nature of the nba and the way the refs call games. i dont mind that because it makes the occasional upset more meaningful and results in more top matchups between the best teams. i dont really like the crapshoot that is the mlb or nhl playoffs.

youre happy with how he's playing now? just pencil in 200/300/350 for the next decade and call it a day. lol. he's not a bust yet for sure. but if he is still hitting like this next year? -
if they dont take a qb early, take one late and make them a 3rd stringer but not a backup. they have ambitions this season and if goff goes down they need a quality backup, not a guy just cutting his teeth.

they draw ire because theyre both really bad right now and were really bad last year. ire is understandable when your bonus babies are floundering. -
all good points, but goff was coming off two really bad seasons in a row. he also didnt look so hot in a few games early this year. i dont think they'll take a qb in round one but the argument would be to take the risk that one of them will be better than goff. as the game turns towards more mobile qbs, you may want to have one that provides that additional element to your offense that goff does not provide. i like goff too. the only guys i would potentially take would be young and richardson. but honestly, i go back and forth all the time.

line out...on the ground. no elevation. -
playoff basketball is fun because theyre actually trying. i dont really mind the playin games for the same reason (even though the playin games can be really bad basketball at times). gs sactown has been really fun to watch. jimmy butler singlehandedly beating a hobbled giannis was fun too.

games on espn plus today! so i get to watch this mess. greene and tork still sucking is very depressing. -
that's true to an extent, but i think every team other than the saints has to deal with cap realities. washington is feeling it now and they dont even have a qb. philly is starting to see it too and will for sure once hurts' extension really kicks in. the chiefs traded away the best receiver in football because of it. the bills just lost some good players because allen's contract kicked in. vikings too because kirk is making $45 mil. as for the lions, all these good young players are eventually going to get paid. as you point out, the way to beat that is to keep the pipeline of good young players coming. the easiest way to keep those guys is to not have to pay one player $50 million. but as mb will point out, good qbs cost money and they are the most important position in sports. if you have one you should keep them. is goff that player? reasonable minds can differ on that. lol.
-
$45-$50 million is the going rate for qbs. if they want to keep goff in three seasons, one assumes that's what he will cost.
-
goff played well when he had a good oline and running game in LA and in Detroit. when that fell apart, he couldnt do it on his own. no shame in that. he doesnt have to be aaron rogers or john elway to be a good qb. and he was good last year.
-
i think richardson has a chance to be a superstar....and a chance to be the next mitch trubisky or akili smith. bryce young is a quandry. he's really too small but he's such a good playmaker. stroud's low "processing" score is worrisome. might be slow on the uptake like fields without the amazing athletic ability. dont know enough about levis. not sure i would risk it for any of them.
-
isles pick, our second round pick this year, a third rounder next year, and edvinsson?
-
i'd give them the 5th we got for okudah for him!
-
that injury must be very serious. he has barely played for two years. he was defensive rookie of the year and a pro bowler in year one.
-
no, but his name comes up when they talk about the kind of player the wings need. scoring winger and in his prime. if winnipeg loses in 5, do they look to rebuild? shed some salary? how about the isles pick and edvinnson? enough to get it done?
-
An honest football question for you............

belichick is in the pantheon of greatest coaches of all time. top 5 for sure. who else is better? walsh? shula? noll? landry? lombardi? fontes? -
what would you trade for kyle connor?
-
phoenix giving up 70 points IN THE FIRST HALF to the clippers without kwahi and paul george.
-
still hoping for carter or anderson or richardson or gonzalez. would also be fine with stroud or witherspoon. looking forward to talking myself into whomever holmes picks.
-
if weaver really feels that way we are doomed.
