edvinnson would likely be on the list. if they dont want to part with a #1 pick they'll have to deal at least one of their top prospects. maybe more.

the noise about bo horvat to detroit is getting a little louder...
-
that's too bad. its not a bad site. they get a little preachy sometimes, but its nice to have a dedicated wings site.

martin tyler is a treasure.
-
pacioretty out for the season, can i interest you in a slightly used tyler bertuzzi? just like todd, but with less teeth...
-
edit: nevermind, misread your post.

IF THIS TEAM CARED ABOUT THEIR FANS THEY WOULD FIRE DAN CAMPBELL BEFORE HE LEFT THE FIELD!!!! I love game threads with drunk TP.

well, im sure YOU would love to trade for ramsey after the draft but the rams might not! and the lions have two firsts and seconds this year. if they want to deal for a star like ramsey, this js the year to do it.

but the comments online are that manuel was standing in the way of NIL and ono is not. i dont know if that is accurate, but if it is, manuel needs to change or be removed. NIL is the future, whether old, crusty michigan fans like us like it or not. and the pearson thing was bad on his part.

1) he may have gone too far. i dont really know. so you may be right there. 2) i think sports are different than a corporate workspace. different people are motivated differently. things you can say to a professional athlete are different than things you can say to a middle manager. imo. 3) i think this generation is different because we have different priorities now. there is less deference to authority, people are more aware of and concerned with mental issues, people are more individualistic and concerned with "their own brand." there is good in that, and (i think) bad in that. but mostly i think there is DIFFERENT in that. you need to treat younger people differently now than you used to and it appears mike babcock is incapable of changing to adapt to the new generation. so he doesnt get hired. and likely shouldnt. but i dont think because of that he was a "monster" as he is being portrayed in social media and on red wings sites run by milenials. i think he was a really good hockey coach who coached a certain way that is no longer acceptable.

no comment on pearson? no comment on the NIL talk and manuel standing in the way of that?

Trading Dylan Larkin? Is it insane? Or..........
buddha replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in Detroit Red Wings
ben freakin chairot got an unprotected first round pick last year, larkin would get AT LEAST that much or they wouldnt even deal him. btw, i dont think he gets dealt. i think they get a deal done in the offseason. i dont think bert gets traded either because he's injured. its too bad but them's the breaks. you rolled the dice and lost. i dont think bert comes back next year either. let someone else deal with the injuries and the reckless play. -

yes. he has a no trade clause, he isnt going to ok a trade to someplace that isnt going to sign him to an extension. just like horvat. btw, the wings are rumored to be one of the clubs in on trading for horvat... -
he dithered on pearson for months and months, then hired an outside firm to take the pressure off him and to tell him what to do, then dithered some more even after the outside investigation happened. howard could easily have been fired after that incident which i wrote at the time. i think the suspension was justified. harbaugh is a tough person to work with but it is manuel's job to work with him. the solution doesnt have to be "what did you want him to do, fire them?" the issue is that your job is to run the program smoothly, and when things happen below you in your program YOU are responsible for them. and if it is true that ono went around him on NIL and harbaugh, that means he isnt doing his job and he needs to be fired. i know you hate harbaugh, but if manuel's problems with NIL are standing in the way of michigan's signature athletic programs, then manuel needs to go.

1) larkin gets you a a first and two solid prospects, one of whom might even become larkin in 3 years. 2) our pipeline at center is kasper and that's it. 3) our "core" is seider, raymond, and hope. mazur is looking more and more like a steal. kasper may turn out but you wont know for at least two years. wallinder looks good too they have prospects, but they dont "appear" to have a top talent 1A player in the system now that seider is on the big club. i dont consider raymond to be a 1A player, but he might grow into one. -
i think the stuff against babcock is overrated and says more about the world we live in now than babcock. he certainly wasnt the perfect person, but i dont necessarily need a touchy feely coach. although being a people manager now i can see how that is the norm in corporate america these days. i thought sports would be different, but maybe not anymore.

any boss cant be happy with the way michigan's athletics have been so much in the news under manuel. the hocket team bullshit, the football team "violations," howard smacking another coach. its all been bad news under manuel.
-
they'll be lucky to get a second rounder for him at this rate.
-
that's what i was thinking too. the problem is - like you said - using a #1 pick on that guy. you only do it if you think he's the second coming of josh allen. i think that's probably unlikely so i dont think they do it that said, i think it isnt the "same ol lions" to take him. if this regime took him, i think it would be with a specific plan in place for him this year and in the future. this isnt watne fontes taking andre ware because of his super high college numbers in a rigged system, it would be a thought out process to use richardson's skills to benefit the team's offense next year and in the future.

you have weird taste in music.

kind of, but you made up for it with this post.

in fairness, the south facing view is of downtown and is much nicer than the north facing view of.....desolation.

fields is 6'3 and 220ish, size wise and running the ball they are comparable. they both have big arms. much more comparable than your willis comparison. edit: LOL.
-
i'm not on the richardson train, but i do think he would be a great addition to their running game and a good developmental prospect for a few years down the road. ultimately, i dont think the lions go that way. that said, he's a better prospect than malik willis for no other reason than he's 6'4 and 240 and willis was considerably smaller. richardson is more along the lines of justin fields than malik willis. seeing as the lions passed on fields, they will probably pass on richardson too.

that was a nothing trade meant to lower their age in GR and get rid of a "veteran." they didnt acquire anyone with upside.
