  1. let's not lose sight of the party who suffered a very real injury as a result of this tweet: the English language.
  2. they've now filed suit, unsurprisingly. in other news, a "class action" against the cpd just netted a $5 million settlement. of the original 35 plaintiffs, 30 dropped out. the remaining five will split $120k. the lawyers will net 4.8 million. it will be the same here. as usual, the plaintiff's lawyers will make millions and the plaintiff's themselves will make nothing. which is fitting considering they have no real injuries from being "hazed."
  3. then again, chicago ran kane/toews/debrincat out there with good success...
  4. me neither. a lot of those prospect lists are like that. smaller guys who dazzle against lesser competition and put up huge numbers, but when they get into the league they are checked out of existence, or at least back to reality. the smaller ice and the bigger players makes the nhl more of a big man's league. that's why i dont understand people thinking raymond and debrincat are going to be on the same line, that seems like an awfully small line to go up against other teams' biggest defenders. maybe at home when we have the last change (which i think someone else mentioned earlier), but not regularly. i expect to see rasmussen and/or perron paired with them.
  5. all around center who can play defense, drive play, and create for others? sounds like jonathan toews.
  6. as usual with prospect rankings, there's an (over)emphasis on skilled wingers. especially small skilled wingers. yzerman seems to take the team building approach of getting big defensemen and centers. then let the wingers come in free agency because theyre easier to find there.
  7. wheeler's top 50 prospects under 23 is out. prospect cannot have played significant time in the nhl, so no seider, raymond, or berggren. edvinsson at 11, kasper at 31, ASP at 43. mazur, danielson and wallinder in the honorable mentions. in my biased opinion he's sleeping on mazur and lombardi.
  8. now they've hired human leeches ben crump and levin & perconti to make themselves some money.
  9. he's got a push shot that seems to start at his hip. gonna get swatted a lot.
  10. all offense and zero defense isnt something the wings have been searching for from their defensive core. they also have gothesbiere who fills that role on the PP. hard pass.
  11. its not a criticism. his defense looks legit. his playmaking and basketball sense look legit. i do wonder where the offense will come from and what the team looks like if it never comes and other teams just leave him in the corner and crash the paint. if his comp is igudola, is his brother's comp jason kidd? man, i do love overreacting to everything in summer league. an annual tradition!
  12. tom gores is 58 years old and shows up on the sideline in a camoflage muscle shirt. what a ****ing douchebag.
  13. you are the weirdest person i have ever (virtually) met. 🙂
  14. it fits in the potential discussion. if he is all defense and has great vision and passing skills but cannot shoot, simmons is a good comp. simmons is a unique character in that he REFUSES to shoot and REFUSES to play, making every excuse in the book from back injuries to mythical psyche injuries that will conform with the cba guidelines. in that way, it does not fit. but in the skills category, it definitely fits if he cannot shoot.
  15. so he's ben simmons?
  16. not to be a debbie downer, but his shot is broke. if he can make it a viable - or even semi acceptable weapon - he's an all star. if not, he's tony allen.
  17. i think they sign him and matthews.
  18. most "power rankings" seem to have them in the middle, and many have them below the vikings. walterfootball has been hyping them for two years now. im always wary about lions hype. its the lions, something inevitably goes wrong. we'll see it when goff goes down in week one. 😞
  19. the lions have become one of the most overrated teams in the league.
  20. wait until he turns it down...
  21. reid would start on the pistons. stew would be a bench player on the wolves. like you said, its sort of an insignificant difference.
  22. he would have been fine with 1-11 as long as there was no scandal. he's a god at northwestern. if anything, he would have been moved up the ladder to some sort of admin position. but he pissed off a player who went public with allegations that mobilized the moral outrage merchants in the chicago media so he had to go. brian kelly kills a kid at notre dame and the chicago media barely blinks. fitzgerald's team did naked pull ups and some kid cries about it and the media goes nuts. must be baseball season. slow news time.
  23. naz reid got 3 and 42. stew seems like an overpay.
  24. the wings should sign patrick kane and trade draft picks and prospects for erik karlson so we can be the 8th seed next year. they need to placate the fans who are SO TIRED of not having a team make the playoffs. pistons did that when they dealt for blake griffin and got the 8th seed and swept in round one. but hey, at least they MADE THE PLAYOFFS!!!!! cause that's what's important to mcs.
