  1. nobody runs to the sidelines after a play faster than deandre swift.
  2. happy turkey day everybody! go lions.
  3. harbaugh donated his $1.5m bonus to the department to pay coaches...
  4. hronek's resurgence is nice to see. i'd almost written him off as unsalvageable after the last two seasons but he's been great this year.
  5. the schedule gets tougher next month... good win with the usual formula: outplayed five on five but played well on special teams and got good goaltending.
  6. was it trevor ariza and a future #1 for stewart?
  7. but you have michigan and michigan state to talk about. there is no college football home team to talk about here.
  8. i only remember caputo as a michigan state slappy. but its been 25 years since i listened to detroit sports radio regularly.
  9. what would you say is the percentage breakdown of topics in detroit sports radio? here is's 70% bears, 15% bulls, 15% everything else during football season and 50% bears, 30% baseball, and 20% everything else in the offseason.
  10. did we trade a first rounder for bey or stewart?
  11. evan brown, jonah jackson, josh paschal, and jeff okudah all out. so we're down to backup tackles as starting guards again.
  12. those things are more about fancy stats and highlights.
  13. aaron glenn has looked a lot better once he started coaching dbs and calling the defense. he's also going to get some serious looks as a head coaching candidate next year.
  14. any qb would look good with a good offensive line and good weapons around him. jared goff isnt that good of a qb but he's looked pretty darn good when the oline holds up, swift is healthy, and the lions mighty mite receivers are open. fields could turn into lamar jackson (who hasnt won anything, btw, and isnt exactly playing on an offensive juggernaut right now) or he could be mitch trubisky (who played pretty well on a 12-4 bears team a few years ago). as i said before its too early to make any conclusions on that qb draft class yet. you should come to chicago, where justin fields has already been annointed as the next aaron rogers and tom brady combined into one.
  15. the problem was recently removed from the organization. hopefully the new person hired has a solution. anything we get from avila's drafts is a bonus because i dont expect any of them to be all stars, much less serious contributors. except greene, he seems like the real deal. im having serious doubts about tork! but his pre draft status makes me think he must be fixable.
  16. or its a money grab by someone who wasnt doing the job well.
  17. its too early to judge the class. of course it wont reach the heights that draft "experts" said it would, these are the same people who said mitch trubisky was better than patrick mahomes. its shouldnt be a surprise that trevor lawrence cant single handedly uplift a terrible jacksonville franchise, that party boy one year wonder johnny manziel clone zach wilson is having trouble in another historically bad franchise, that mac jones is a limited qb, that trey lance is hurt, and that justin fields is a great running back playing qb.
  18. michigan bball doesnt look very good so far.
  19. they wont intentionally tank, but they are down to their 3rd string qb. and if its one thing the rams dont have its depth. injuries were always the thing that could derail their season. stafford is in concussion protocol for the second time. he may not be so quick to come back.
  20. yup. seems to be harbaugh's MO. just like Bo's.
  21. the idea that chris illitch somehow told harris to let candy go to save a few million is silly, imo. if anything, the analytics people had candy worth X amount of dollars and it wasnt his arb number and he wasnt willing to accept a contract for that amount so he left. a month ago we all said how candy sucks and there should be other alternatives to try. now were pining away for him and want to give him $7 million just to spite an owner we think is cheap? illitch bashing for candy leaving is just anti ownership boogeyman wishcasting.
  22. wilson had separation but he never looked for wilson. he just locked in on bell who was covered by illinois' cb who is a first day nfl draft pick, the tight end, or a dink to a third string running back. and andrel anthony needs to catch some of those balls. i agree with the internet consensus that michigan didnt take illinois seriously and almost paid for it. rested a bunch of guys, ran very conservative plays for the most part, and almost lost because of it. as to michigan's receivers, they have a group coming up who are very highly touted. i expect them to start to break through next year and jj to look a lot better when they do. bell is a nice player, but he isnt beating potential nfl corners.
  23. which is why you make your bets early, before all the pros have come in and moved the line to something more reasonable.
