not to go off on a tangent, but at the end of the day the only thing that stops tanking is to get rid of the draft or put in a relegation system. create actual punishments for losing. neither of which will ever happen because the draft does have its uses in distributing talent to bad teams and is an event now, and relegation is bad for the owners and they will never ever agree to it.

every league should go the draft and develop route of the nhl. draft them in high school amd send them to college or the g league or a glorified aau team. they get paid, but they can develop amongst their peers rather than with hardened pros who are trying to keep their jobs. it might actually relieve some of the pressure to tank too if you can draft these kids at 16 or 17 and stash them for a while rather than at 18 and have to play them immediately. maybe. probably not.

i think a one loss michigan or ohio state would probably get in over oregon aasuming that one loss was to the other and it was a decently close game. oregon's big game was a 49-3 shellacking. that leaves a mark. if michigan beats illinois and loses a close game to ohio state, i think they would get in over a one loss clemson or a one loss anyone from the pac 12 because of big ten bias. if they get blown out in columbus i dont think they have a chance against other big one loss teams because of their soft schedule.

i think we all remember spencer dinwiddie who looked like garbage for the pistons and then turned into a player when he left, but spencer's shot was ok in detroit. killian's shot has become the "bonderman's changeup" for the pistons. hell, even andre drummond made some threes in his day. equally concerning was the inability to get to the basket and take contact. he was always fading away and never getting to the line. regardless, he's going to be out of the league soon unless he learns how to shoot.
