Stupid things to talk about because there's not much other Lions news...
buddha replied to RedRamage's topic in Detroit Lions
george halas is on the list. again, this is just lazy clickbait. as to the big buck, fontes had the best players and came up short again and again, usually due to fontes' poor decisions. this just highlights how poor the lions upper management was at identifying coaching talent. -
people are still wearing them outside. and in their cars by themselves.

my grocery store had a sign requiring masks so i wore one. as soon as i dont have to, i wont. they still require one on the cta.

LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?
buddha replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
i doubt they lose much for long. again, this is a temporary labor situation. people get emotional and start talking about the damage to the game and that fans wont come back, yadda yadda yadda. tjat's clickbait anf sports radio call in topics. the fans have always come back. there are much larger issues with the game itself and the pace of play that are more problematic to continue the game's popularity. management is trying to tweak that. to me, that is the more important aspect of these negotiations, not the money. the money will eventually work itself out. the fact that the players have any say on that is ridiculous, and that's what's holding up meaningful changes being made. they use it as a bargaining chip to get a few more scheckles out of the owners.- 1,851 replies

understood. i dont think the us will move into ukraine under any circumstances, so i dont think we have to worry about it.

a temporary workstoppage will not affect baseball's fandom. what is affecting baseball's fandom is that the game has become very slow in an age where people dont have that much attention span anymore. as soon as there are baseball games to go to outside in the summer when its warm, there will be tons of fans in the seats. just like there has been after every work stoppage. the nhl cancelled a whole damn season and fans came back and the league expanded multiple times! people dont drop sports because of labor disputes.- 1,851 replies

why would nato moving against ukraine cause china to move against taiwan? because the us would be too occupied in europe to fight?

its not an "anti-lions agenda", its just laziness and shoddy work, i.e.: "journalism for click bait." -

you should look into those examples more and you'll often find competing interests behind the scenes that are influencing those you perceive to be 100% in charge.

has russia produced any non-reformist, expansionist leaders other than vladimir putin? and - again - i was saying i thinknit is likely that this is not ALL putin, because none of us know the inner workings of the russian leadership hierarchy, no matter what twitter tells us. i imagine there are people in the army and russia's foreign policy apparatus who believe in its need to expand and protect its borders other than just putin ,as you appear to be suggesting. however, i dont really know. but i think its a strong possibility.

the pitch clock is a good idea. the actual enforcement of it would be even better. step 2: you cant step out of the box. let us return to the sanity of 2 hour baseball games again.- 1,851 replies

he's the face of the corporation, did you expect him to get up there and cry? he got up and told the owners story. youre like people arguing that tony clark should have showed more emotion as a player and because he didnt, he didnt love the game.- 1,851 replies

its good to hear that the league wants to institute pitch clocks by 2023, along with banning the shift and larger bases. the pitch clock, at least, is a positive sign.- 1,851 replies

what did people expect him to say? i heard his speech and it was exactly what any executive would say. we thank the union for participating and we look forward to negotiating more but we gave up a lot and we couldnt come to an agreement. union comes up and says the opposite. rinse, repeat.- 1,851 replies
