  1. thoughts on zadina on the top line? i didnt think he was all that great even though he scored against philly.
  2. you're not certain what i mean? come on! it was a joke! you knew exactly what i meant. lol. i'm not sure i would give up talent for chychrun. they have a lot of defensemen in the pipeline, and what they really need is a center.
  3. carlos monnarez has taken up the drew sharpe mantle of being the guy who must be a contrarian and bag on all the home teams no matter what. and he said for years that stafford was a loser and the lions needed to get rid of him. monnarez is terrible.
  4. how about dennis cholowski and filip hronek?
  5. if only we could play the flyers every day.
  6. they would really have to be blown away. then again, how much will it cost to keep him/larkin and pay seider and raymond? bert would be reallt valuable to a playoff team BUT the vax status sort of moots that this year.
  7. a month and a hakf to the trade deadline. do you deal bert?
  8. unfortunately they also had to pitch and field...
  9. stop teasing us devin.
  10. killian with the double double.
  11. why is mcgruder playing instead of saban lee? is lee hurt?
  12. likely a possession receiver in the nfl because he doesnt have top nfl receiver speed. but he's a great route runner and has good hands. because of his hands and his routes, some people compare him to cooper kupp. early third round option for the lions if they havent loaded up on receiver in rounds 1 and 2.
  13. george blaha: dont look now greg, but the pistons have it under 30!
  14. if he is going to be drafted at the top of round 2, nfl scouts agree with you.
  15. look, you always want talented playmakers on your team, whether that be on offense or defense. if that means taking a really talented running back high(er) in the draft, so be it. but the lions already have a decently talented running back room and an effective running game with it. you dont need a bellcow running back anymore. and the lions lack playmakers at qb, receiver, and everywhere on defense, so much so that taking walker high in round two doesnt make sense to me.
  16. next up on the chopping block: ken holland.
  17. nobody was going to give him that kind of money. the pistons arent likely to either unless he totally balls out for them, which in a way would be counter-productive because then you might have to pay him.
  18. it doesnt matter because you can get a running back off the waiver wire who will likely be just as good. sony michel filled in for cam akers just fine. rams didnt miss a beat. if youre in the 4th round a rb is there and you think you need depth, by all means take one. but know that they are largely replaceable. i'd much rather have a ball hawking safety, cornerback, edge rusher, or wide receiver at that pick than kenneth walker who will just be part of a rb rotation.
  19. randy gets it.
  20. maybe keeping grant is weaver's way of ensuring the tank remains on schedule?
  21. he did the same thing with josh jackson and jahlil okafor. those didnt pan out either. its a fine gamble to take on bagley. if he's happy rim running and taking lobs from cade, then fine. we'll see how it goes. but the larger point is that you didnt have to give anything up to do it. you could have just signed him in the offseason.
  22. watching the nba (non pistons edition), with their floor spacing and shooting and athleticism, is so different than watching college ball. i saw that first half last night and was just amazed at how many layups players can miss, not to mention open jumpers.
