  1. i love the story that the bears replaced ryan pace and matt nagy with ryan proles and matt eberflus because virginia mccaskey didnt want to learn the new names for new management...
  2. do you approve of governor youngkin: approve 44 disapprove 42
  3. a championship game under his belt. lol. that was the one and only time in ten years his team had a winning record! the lions have a better record than the jags over that period, the jags just got lucky in one playoff game. come on. over the same time period, the vikings have made the playoffs four times, won the division twice, and had three losing seasons, and have dropped below 6 wins only once, the jaguars have finished with less than 6 wins EIGHT TIMES in the last ten years. khan is supposedly a really nice guy but his team has been horrifically bad over the time of his ownership.
  4. this is so dumb. supreme court justices are picked for political and "identity" reasons all the time! almost every one of them! acb was picked because she was a woman to replace a woman. clarence thomas was picked because he was a black guy to replace a black guy. southerners were picked because they were southerners to placate the south. liberals from certain states were picked to placate liberals from those states. its happened forever. its happened from conservatives. its happened from liberals. this is nothing new and nothing different. everyone biden is talking about selecting is "qualified" to be on the court (as if there were such things as qualifications). try to pick the smartest people who can write well and have your ideological viewpoint. thats all. all of biden's proposed picks meet those criteria. whomever he picks wont agree with me, but that's normal. its biden's pick and he wants a liberal judiciary and a liberal judge. but all this "racism" talk is just nonsense.
  5. he look, cade sucks again.
  6. i would expect foote to follow leftwich if a pro dc job gets offered, but you never know. maybe he has maize and blue blood?
  7. my dad has a crap load of old hockey cards from the 50s sitting around somewhere.
  8. probably hunter biden.
  9. if mobley is on the pistons he has to rely on killian to get him the ball.
  10. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fox32chicago.com/news/1-dead-1-gravely-injured-after-car-riddled-with-bullets-starts-on-fire-in-uptown-officials.amp two blocks from my kids' school. i picked them up at 5 pm. about 5 minutes later two blocks away a drive by shot into a car killing two people, the car then burst into flames. another shooting nearby about 30 minutes later. western and montrose.
  11. schwartz took a team with three superstars that was ready to win following a rise to 10-6 and proceeded to go 4-12 and 7-9. jim caldwell took the same team and went 11-5 the next year. schwartz flunked his audition, i doubt he gets another shot.
  12. i forgot stetcher was on the team.
  13. death, taxes, and chad ford having no clue.
  14. https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/criminal-justice/ct-melissa-ortega-homicide-bond-court-20220127-jttz5uxuzvhrrjebfkraecewoi-story.html shot an 8 year old girl in the head, and then went to subway for a sandwich or two. all while out on probation for multiple car jackings.
  15. like you said, the division being bad is the argument for the lions winning it. they could win 8 games and win the division next year if rodgers leaves.
  16. well, we can argue about the value of listening to nietzsche if you want to go down that road...
  17. they've known for a long time who they are going to nominate for the court. they've probably discussed it with breyer already too. the fbi is surely doing background checks as we speak to confirm the results of the background checks the democrats conducted before they anonymously released their list of names of potential candidates to the press.
  18. after the last one, its not to have a bad feeling about every wings game. i dont see the wings dropping below 8th in the overall draft standings, which would give them a 5% chance at #1, as opposed to a 3% chance now. sigh.
  19. its not an issue to me. its just partisan politics, imo. biden made it a point in his campaigning to add more minority justices to the bench and he has done that in a very big way. trump had a list of "federalist society approved" justices when he was elected and the democrats went after them for it. yadda yadda yadda, rinse repeat.
  20. or clarence thomas. they were intent on nominating a black man to replace marshall. or acb. they were going to nominate a woman to replace ginsburg.
  21. plenty of black female candidates are just as qualified as anyone else. i dont have a problem with biden choosing one for the court.
  22. how is that decision not up to the packers?
  23. biden is underwater in approval/disapproval ratings. he's very underwater with non-college voters. i think people see covid and inflation and equate those concerns with biden. if covid dissipates this summer and inflation starts to go down, we should see his numbers go up. if not, look out below democrats.
  24. i cant believe the packers would be crazy enough to let rodgers go and roll with jordan love. we all saw love play this year and he was awful. rodgers is still one of the best qbs in the league despite flaming out against the niners. if they let rodgers go they are committing to a real rebuild.
  25. oh yeah definitely. i was picking and choosing neighborhoods where you and i live as well as magnet high schools that are by application only. those draw from all over the city. to go further into what you said, lakeview is 77% white, lincoln park is 78% white. our old friend bucktown is now 73% white. conversely, garfield park is 91% black, austin is 84% black, and south shore is 93% black. with almost 0 white population. little village is 84% hispanic, pilsen is still 70% hispanic but whitey has turned east pilsen into coffee shop land and its now 20% gringo. all in all, pretty segregated. and pretty segregated in a specific fashion with black neighborhoods being very segregated. hispanic neighborhoods are gentrfying and white neighborhoods are getting sizeable hispanic populations, but poor black neighborhoods remain extremely segregated (although bronzeville is getting a little more diverse now as white folks move in) and the nicer whiter neighborhoods are still largely devoid of any black people.
