Twins lose, Cleveland wins. Could have picked up a game. Off to Pittsburgh for a couple of losses.

In one of the earlier podcasts this season Evan stated that Boyd called him over in the locker room and voiced his concern that Gorosh was “dogging” him on air and wanted to know why. Clearly, it didn’t sit well with Boyd. Petzold should do himself a favor and stop associating himself with this dude. I listened to the podcast pretty regularly until a few weeks back. Gorosh is too much at times. I do enjoy Evan’s perspective on things.

Year in and year out…

I agree. So let’s see what Harris has in store the next two days. At some point he’s going to have to sign legitimate major leaguers to move the org forward.

I’d profile Bart at third base and see what you come up with. I think his offense suffered because he was in over his head with the expectations that the Giants had of him following Posey. The Tigers need a third baseman. Whether the Tigers are interested in Bart or not I’m interested in seeing where things go from here with him. I’m sure Harris has his opinions of Bart. I just find it hard to believe the second pick in the draft is done already.

Detroit is the home of the lost and wandering souls. Harris and Hinch have repeatedly said that Tigerland is where players that are down on their luck can come and see their careers revived. The Tigers are like a wholesale car dealership. Go to auction, pick up something cheap, clean it up and trade it for the next fixer upper.

Hinch has never impressed me. But he and Harris are inseparable. I’m anxious to see what Harris does these next couple of days.

Harris should inquire about Joey Bart. He is out of options and Patrick Bailey is their #1 catcher. They have a reliable #2 and Bart isn’t the heir to the throne of Posey anymore. Bart impresses me as a guy that just needs a change of scenery. SF isn’t in a good position to ask much for him. At least ask.

Ohtani vs boys

He just turned 29 years of age. He’s got a number of good years ahead yet. He may well be the GOAT soon enough. Dusty Baker recently commented that Ohtani must have the cleanest liver in baseball. Probably true.

I’ve attended several AAA games this season and I am all in on the ABS System at the MLB level. Perhaps one year of Challenge System and then roll out the ABS in 2025…

Since the beginning of the year. Of the six games per series, three games will be Challenge and three games will be ABS system. I’ve seen several games this year with the two systems. I like them both.

No surprises, agreed. It was an obvious fiasco and had been discussed at length. It just seems like it goes from bad to worse on a daily basis. Should have canned Avila a long time ago.

In retrospect, it seems like the damage Avila inflicted on this organization is all of a sudden magnified. We knew it was bad but…it’s also like pulling back the bandage to realize how bad things really are. There is nothing that is not in need of repair in this organization. Bad.

I have almost posted on this before but didn’t. Now that you bring this tragedy to light.., Before I retired I was a production supervisor in a facility that, like others, hired temporary workers to fill out positions in production that did not warrant a full time hire. One of the temporary employees hired at our plant was the player that hit the foul ball that killed Mike Coolbaugh. Another supervisor, and a good friend of mine, was from Puerto Rico. He knew the player and his family personally. We had like a nine game pack for the Durham Bulls around 2016-2017?…not exactly sure. As it ended up, myself, my supervisor friend, and the ballplayer discussed attended a Bulls game together. The players name is Tito for short. He had his cousins, brother, and father at the game. Those boys could put away some beer. Every time they made a beer run they would buy me a beer because I provided all the tickets to get in. I actually spoke to Tito for a good part of the game we were attending about his life in the minor leagues. Never did the issue of Coolbaugh’s tragic death come up. He was a nice guy and his stories were very entertaining regarding his minor league career. Pretty sure he was a catcher. He was a genuinely nice guy. I’m sure everyone knows that this is where the mandate for batting helmets originated for base coaches.

The Texas Rangers are cleaning house. Fired their manager the other day and canned their baseball operations guy today.

He got out of it thank goodness.

I’ve tried. I can’t get past the “good team” thing.

Let’s lose two!

In hindsight I believe the appropriate term is, reshuffle. This team did, does, and for the foreseeable future, will suck.
