  1. Morris would pitch with a cracked fingernail.
  2. He usually has an OPS of around .700. That is about average for a catcher.
  3. Damn those lawyers. I think there are even worse than sabers.
  4. One of the classic threads of MTS.
  5. There will most likely be new fielding metrics which make today's metrics seem silly. However, there will be no way to evaluate the players of today because the data used in the future won't be available for today's players and certainly not players who played before statcast. I don't know how much more they can do with offense as far as evaluating results. There will be better predictive and scouting tools, but I think the results metrics for offense won't be that much further advanced. There might be some tweaks using more situational data, but I don't they'll be questioning today's great hitters.
  6. Glasses are the biggest problem. There are ways around it, but I don't want to go through that hassle every time I need to take the mask on or off.
  7. Here is an interesting site showing the wage breakdowns for employees at many large companies. Also included is the company revenue and CEO pay. https://www.epi.org/company-wage-tracker/
  8. I wear a mask whenever it is required, but I find them uncomfortable. I never get used to them.
  9. Batting .300 every year was good enough back then. His on base percentages were very good too, but he probably didn't deserve 18 all-star appearances
  10. I may have gotten it in January when everybody was getting the Omicron strain. A couple of family members (who I didn't have a lot of contact with) tested positive and I got a cold. I thought it was better just to stay home rather than run around trying to get a test.
  11. He also said in a recent broadcast that Cabrera "was approaching Hall of Fame numbers" as if Cabrera wasn't at his level yet.
  12. I like baseball reference's interface better, but there are some things I can't find there which I can find at FanGraphs. I use both of them a lot. FanGraphs tends to be slower and has more ads even though I paid a fee to get rid of ads. I know if I paid a higher fee, I could get rid of all the ads, but they didn't offer anything else that I wanted. The fee for Stathead at B-Ref is definitely worth it for me.
  13. Threatening to overturn the foundation of our Democracy is no big deal. OK.
  14. Even so, you'd still have to be dumb to pay $35.
  15. How dumb would someone have to be to pay $35 to watch these clowns? Can you possibly put together a more annoying group than this?
  16. Baseball-Reference has a good group of people. They take their jobs seriously, but don't take themselves seriously. When I used to do more research online, they were one of the most accomodating sites to work with.
  17. I think it's pretty obvious that Trump knew what was going to happen on January 6 and that he encouraged it. I don't know if that's enough legally or whether they can sufficiently prove it, but it's enough for me. It's even more obvious that he tried to overturn the election. He said he was going to do it and he broadcasted it as he did it. He is 100% guilty.
  18. Biden is not the king. You are giving him too much credit. This is a capitalist nation.
  19. Maybe, you can be next.
  20. I don't think he is necssarily letting him off the hook. He and others still should be prosecuted regardless of his motivation.
  21. If he had lost in 2016, I am pretty sure he would have claimed that the election was stolen then too. He wouldn't have had any power to do anything about it, but he would have talked about it for four years.
  22. 2022 Team Slogan: "At least we care"
  23. Most politicians in both parties are dishonest and self serving and I don't like them. I think that a lot of them do have a genuine interest in law and policy, so you kind of block out the noise and listen to their views even though they are not sincere in their intentions. Trump doesn't even have that going for him.
  24. I get that people hate the establishment. I don't really like it either. So, I understand the anti-establishment vote. It is just amazing to me that so many think he is on their side and believe everything stupid self centered thing he tells them.
