Yes, they can score 710 runs without much trouble. 670 runs allowed would be more difficult to achieve, but as Gehringer pointed out, defense can make a big difference. Baez can be a huge improvement if his defense was like it was a couple of years ago. I don't really now what expect from Greene. The pitching staff has a lot of questions. They don't have anyone that has consistently pitched full MLB seasons, but there is a lot of potential. It's hard to project young players, but there is a lot of new upside on this roster - hitters and pitchers.. Of course, that's not say that they'll reach it.

710 runs scored and 670 runs allowed would translate to 85 wins which would make them a contender, but probably fall a little short.

I thought Conforto was a good idea going into the winter, but he had an off year last year and hurt his shoulder in January. He is supposedly healthy now, but I could see him being a problem. If they can get him on a year deal, then sure.

Haase's power is legit, but I doubt he'll ever get on base enough where you'll him to get more than 200 PA. He is OK as a backup.

I doubt I'll get a booster before the fall unless my school makes me get one which is a distinct possibility. I envision annual boosters each fall which might be combined with the flu vaccine.

I have seen no signs of dementia in Biden. I don't remember Reagan showing signs of dementia while in office either. Maybe Trump! But I think his mental health problems are something other than dementia. They were all pretty old to be in a position which requires a lot of energy, endurance and a high level of mental alertness. Ideally, we should be electing younger leaders with elders in more advisory roles.

I think they are both good bets to be at least average hitters at their positions. Greene is supposed to be more ready at this time, but I don't have an opinion as to which one has a better chance to be star long term. My bold prediction is that Torkelson will be better, but that is based on nothing.

I don't think they'll flop, but I think if we expect both of them to be stars, we will probabably be disappointed. If one becomes an all-star and other becomes a good regular long term, we should probably be happy. As you say, injuries are always a risk too.

Why do they have a huge advantage over the Tigers? The Cardinals are not in a big market. They consistently get good attendance because they have been a smart franchise for a long time. The Giants are in a bigger market area, but they share that with the Athletics. The Tigers are not the Yankees, but they aren't the Marlins either.

It's do-able. FanGraphs is projecting: Torkelson 2.6 Greene 2.5 It's really hard to project rookies and either one of them might bomb, but I think the projections are very attainable.
