  1. Candelario likely dropped because of money. Same with Reyes to some extent. However, I think there is a pattern - Reyes, H. Castro and Willi Castro can not draw walks. I am betting there will be more emphasis on on base skills going forward.
  2. The devils they don't know.
  3. Not all of us. He sucked in 2022, but he didn't suck in 2020-2021 and seems like a good candidate to bounce back.
  4. I think it's a bear!
  5. That is beautiful.
  6. I don't know. Based on the language he uses, he sounds like he could be reasonably intelligent and civil. I think it's just a show.
  7. It's for money, attention and revenge. He'd probably enjoy some of the fruits of fascism if it happened, but I really don't think he likes being president.
  8. This guy is a nut job, but he puts on a damn good show. https://twitter.com/BuzzPatterson/status/1593817398229889024?s=20&t=8FPL4XTCeW-kwpRZy39j9A
  9. That makes sense to me for up the middle positions. When your first stringer goes down, you are generally going to lose some offense no matter what position it is. You can't afford to also lose defense at a key poisition. You should also have a bat or two on the bench, but that should be at 1B or corner OF.
  10. Lake Solitude from Mt Sunapee in NH.
  11. Tigers continue to work the waiver wire. I don't know if any of these guys will amount to anything, but I like the constant effort to acquire new talent.
  12. The Castros have been non-tendered too. I like that because I want the Tigers to find players with different skillsets. I am not upset about Candelario either, just a bit surprised. Of course, it depends on which new players they get.
  13. I agree with that. If they don't think they can fix him, then they should nontender him. I don't have enough information to know that. Just based on numbers, I would say he is a candidate to rebound. This just became a moot point as I typed it!
  14. OPS+ in his three good years: 133 137 121 There are some limited PAs in those years, but he led the team in WAR in 20 and 21, so he was arguably their best player those years. The Tigers payroll is so low right now that if they drop him mostly based on cost then I am going to be very pessimistic about their future.
  15. I don't understand why people are so down on Candelario. He was good in 2017, then got injured, was good in 2020-2021 and then bad in 2022. He seemsd like a good bounce back candidate to me. I wish they had someone better, but I don't see him as someone that HAS to be replaced yet.
  16. I don't know about versatile (since he is a poor infielder), but he did OPS .932 over 140 PA in 2020. It was flukey and ridiculously BABIP influenced, but Clemens has not come close to that. I actually have little hope for Castro, but there is a slight ray of potential.
  17. Verlander will go in as Verlander. He has done enough with both franchises so that each can claim him as their own. I am very much into baseball history and the hall of fame but I don't even think about whar cap players have on their plaque. I think of the Hall of Fame as an individual honor rather than a team honor.
  18. He called me boring about 10 years ago... He wasn't wrong!
  19. The Tigers Stole him.
  20. yeah, that is a very real problem. At least, we don't have to see the name on the line-up card.
  21. They will get better healh care than any of us. They may not have a great quality of life much longer, but they could be around a really long time.
  22. I only got snarky with people like Tyrus who deserved it!
  23. I haven't followed him closely in recent years. A lot of the sabers from that period were snarky know it alls which I don't think helped the saber movement. He wasn't one of my favorites, but I don't remember if he was worse than others.
  24. This is interesting. Cameron never seemed that brilliant, but he worked hard and was ubiquitous on saber social media. He reached his dream job. Good for him.
  25. We come pretty close to that where I work!
