  1. Yeah, that was Biden's job and that was the most frustrating part of the "debate". He started doing it later, but it was too little too late.
  2. By having a plan, I man he was committed to building from within. He tore everything down and tried to collect young players and never waivered. I did not like his plan and he was bad at it, but I saw that he had a plan. I don't follow the behind the scenes management stuff as much as you do, but I know they were not good at analytics. Harris and his team appear to be far superior at analytics and that is what I've always wanted from the Tigers. I am excited about that. What I don't know is whether they will be good at team building. My excitement will be tempered until I see evidence that they have that skill.
  3. I don't think anyone here with the possible exception of Echoes admires Avila. I think Avila was a poor GM. It's just that any time someone points out a positive acquisition by Avila - such as Skubal, Greene, Carpenter or Olson - it gets shot down. It seems that Avila is hated so much that people won't give him credit for the few good players he produced. It's possible for someone to be terrible at the job, but still do some good things.
  4. It's the same thing as players. Everything was different a long time ago. You can compare Avila to his contemporaries and Smith to his contemporaries and decide which one was worse. What I see was that Avila and his team had a plan, but were bad at executing it. Smith didn't even seem to have a plan. Regardless, the Tigers did very poorly under both of them. I hope they do better under Harris. They couldn't do much worse.
  5. Maybe he is. I doubt he is telling them to vote for Trump.
  6. This is not a Biden campaign site. It's a place where where we dicuss politics and this thread in particular is where we talk about the election. That includes analyzing the chances of favorite and not so favorite candidates.
  7. He does. His name is Zach McKinstry.
  8. I like compare him to Mussolini. Il Douche
  9. Anything is better when you don't have to look at Trump's stupid face.
  10. Steve Kemp for Chet Lemon
  11. Right, but I am not here to campaign for Biden. I am concerned that he will not get elected because of his poor communicaton skills and I am expressing that concern here. Saying negative things about Biden on a Detoit Sports message bored will will have zero impact on his chances.
  12. No, I won't just get out of the way. I don't need to speak the party line. This is not ElectJoeBiden.com.
  13. But the bar is always lower for Trump. He sucks 100% of the time, but it doesn't seem to matter with him.
  14. It doesn't matter. He blew it last night on the national stage. I know you are a huge Biden supporter and think he can do no wrong and there is nothing I can say to change your mind. However, I still maintain that his communication skills are a significant problem and that last night was not an isolated event. The party has a lot of work to do to fix his image before election day.
  15. Trump always sounds like a lunatic, but America has decided that it's OK.
  16. He stumbled over every sentence and mumbled so softly, you had to strain to hear him? Hard to believe.
  17. I wished they addressed it a long time ago. I really don't know how America got itself in a situation where they are choosing between a 78 year old psychopath and a 82 year old grand pa on the decline.
  18. I don't necesarily want him to replaced by anyone. I am just concerned by how he is coming across and I would bet that there are some high level Democrats who are concerned regardless of what they say publicly. I really doubt they'll make any change at this point.
  19. Well, I didn't expect Obama to say that Biden sucks and that he is concerned. Obama NEVER had a night anything like that.
  20. Can't get rid of Baez because he'll be replacd by Kriedler and McKinstry. 😃
  21. It's not just one debate. I get nervous every time I hear him talk now because he keeps stumbling over his words and sounds like he has a bad cold all the time. Often times, I can barely hear what he is saying. The debate last night was worse than usual though.
  22. Well, according to Trump last night, firing people makes someone a good President!
  23. He needs to like that all the time, not just some of the time.
  24. It has an effect on me. I don't want him to be President if he can't communicate sufficiently. It's just that the alternative is so horrible that there is no other choice for me. All it takes is to alienate a few thousand swing state voters and the election is lost.
