  1. I don't think it's a coincidence all of his assistants have sucked. I think he's a Matt Patricia d-bag of a coach who won the greatest lottery ticket of all time by stumbling into Tom Brady... He could have realized it too and retired on top when Brady left, forever tying the two together. But his arrogance was too big to admit that it could have possibly been more than him, which led to this. Belichick's record with Brady at QB: 219-64 (0.774), 30-11 in the playoffs, six rings Belichick's record with literally anyone else at QB: 82-98 (0.456), 1-2 in the playoffs, no rings
  2. I’m eagerly awaiting the expedited SEC investigation into this behavior.
  3. The problem hasn’t been money, it’s been that the NFL hasn’t wanted him back. It will take the right ownership to make it work.
  4. He really needs to retire. He should have retired last year….. or the year before that. His style of coaching only works when you’re winning. When you’re not, players will give up on him and not want to go to any city he’s in.
  5. I think even if just on an intangible scale, this is huge. He is just such a vocal leader on that defense. That's not even considering how badly our secondary needs someone with an ounce of instincts.
  6. Now that I'm (almost) over being pissed about a loss to the Bears, I do think this has the capacity to be a get-right game for the Lions. We matchup well against the Broncos, even the improved Broncos of the last two months or so. We should be able to return to the bread and butter that made us so good late last year, ramming the ball down their throat and take advantage of their linebackers with the Goff-LaPorta and Goff-ASB connections over the middle. Their corners are good at stopping the deep ball and containing vertical receivers, but that's not typically a part of our arsenal anyway. Meanwhile, we are basically the opposite on defense. Helpless to stop the deep ball, but very good at stopping the run and decent at stopping the short passing attack. That matches up well too, as Wilson is probably not going to be the guy who chucks it deep to beat Jacobs. I think Sutton will put up numbers in the intermediate passing game, but otherwise we will hold them in check. Despite our frustrations of late, it's worth mentioning that we haven't lost back-to-back games since October of 2022. Continue to keep the turnovers in check (I only really count the fumble last game, the two picks were both effectively punts) and I like our chances.
  7. Newton's stats after yelling "I'm BAAAACK" into a camera: 0-5, 66/122 for 676 yards, 3 TD, 5 INT, 10 sacks.
  8. He should have been out after embarrassing himself in the handshake line against Wisconsin.
  9. That's an embarrassing loss if you're Miami. Tyreek got the slightest bit hobbled and they completely lost their offensive identity.
  10. Bad football, but somehow competitive. Bread and butter of NFL football.
  11. I like Mike McDaniels, but he has been a liability as offensive play caller today for Miami.
  12. I'm still holding out hope that week 18 is inconsequential and the starters won't play. Teddy for a half, Hooker makes his debut for a half.... And we still win, because f*** the Vikings.
  13. We should have made a magic number thread weeks ago, like we had for the Tigers of yesteryear.
  14. NFC North Power Rankings from Week 14 1. Bears 2. Lions 3. Packers 4. Vikings
  15. Take care of the ball and chip chip chip it in
  16. Here is their chance.
  17. The Dolphins and Packers both look awful tonight. For being some offensive mastermind, McDaniels red zone play calling has left me stupefied. His team is also completely lacking in discipline.
  18. I wish Goff had half as much mobility as whoever Tommy DeVito is.
  19. "bUt ThE pAcKeRs DoN't Lo$e iN dEcEmBeR!" - ESPN, probably
  20. He ran off the field right after it happened, hyping up the crowd. If Tennessee keeps it close, I could see him going back out there in the second half.
  21. I've been watching Dolphins/Titans for fantasy implications, and I think I'm literally watching Mike Vrabel losing the will to live for every minute he has to watch Will Levis be his QB.
  22. I think they re-signed him last offseason to a two-year deal, so his contract will expire after this season. But, I think they depended on him to the extent that they did not address the position at all this offseason. I was wrong about Anzalone. He's been great (notwithstanding yesterday). I was right about Harris though. Dude's a bum.
  23. I think the Lions do too, but I think it's done behind closed doors. I seem to remember the Rams/Seahawks game that cost the Lions a playoff berth had numerous questionable (or worse) calls in it, and that it came out after the fact that Lions brass had privately complained to the NFL about it. If you take yesterday for example though - could Campbell have complained post-game about Fields' intentional grounding that led to a touchdown? Yes. But that's an uncontrollable factor and wasted breath, the officials don't answer to him. His energy is better saved for privately chewing out Hutch for the bone-headed penalty that directly led to the touchdown. That's a controllable factor (or it should be if you're a good coaching staff).
